Symbolic adoption and giving immensely supports our friends at PCRF. Their rehabilitation program gives pangolins like Sparky a second chance at life in the wild — read below for an inspiring update!

👅 Tongue Out Tuesday! 👅

Sparky is giving us his best Tuesday tongue out mood while hitching a ride with Pangolin Guardian Kaqece during his daily foraging adventures.

Just a few months ago, after being rescued from an electric fence, Sparky couldn’t walk, couldn’t eat on his own, and had lost the use of his tongue. Today, he’s spending 4–8 hours a day foraging, gaining weight, and showing off that tongue every chance he gets!

Every little milestone feels huge when you’ve watched an animal fight so hard to survive. We’re incredibly proud of how far this special pangolin has come. 💚

Our chapter does more than have meetings and host fundraising events, we also have group outings! Last week our chapter got together with Jen from Cleveland Metroparks to see some of the awesome migratory birds passing through at Wendy Park. Our wonderful member, Sue, got some great pictures of a handful of the birds we saw which you can view in this post. We loved seeing all of the birds making their pit stop before continuing on with their migration!

Happy World Turtle Day!

Now You Know - The Painted Terrapin (Batagur borneoensis), native to Southeast Asia, inhabits coastal estuaries and rivers. It is named for the vivid brushstrokes of red, gray, black, and white that males display during the breeding season. It is one of the few freshwater turtles known to share nesting beaches with marine turtles. Populations have plummeted due to decades of harvesting adults and eggs for food.

Turtle Survival Alliance supports conservation across its range, including Sumatra, Indonesia, and Malaysia, through community engagement, river surveys, nest patrols, and nest protection. These efforts have produced thousands of hatchlings released into the wild in key coastal areas.
