🏆 Region 2 EMS Service of the Year 🏆

We are incredibly proud to announce that White County Emergency Medical Services has been named the 2026 Region 2 EMS Service of the Year!

This is an incredible honor and a significant accomplishment for our service. This award represents far more than the name on a plaque - it represents the dedication, professionalism, compassion, and countless hours of hard work and training demonstrated by the men and women of White County EMS every single day.

This recognition also marks another major achievement for White County EMS in 2026. Earlier this year, our service received the 2026 Mission: Lifeline EMS Recognition from the American Heart Association, and now being named Region 2 EMS Service of the Year gives us even more reason to be proud of what our team has accomplished this year.

These recognitions are a reflection of the people behind them. Our crews continually strive to provide the highest level of emergency medical care to the citizens and visitors of White County. The commitment of our employees never stops.

Achievements like these are earned as a team. Every paramedic, EMT, supervisor, educator, and member of our service has contributed to the standard White County EMS represents. The dedication of our employees- to their patients, their profession, their teammates, and this community-is what makes recognition like this possible.

Two major recognitions in one year is something worth celebrating, and we could not be more proud of our team.

🚑 PHTLS COURSE — REGISTRATION OPEN! 🚑

White County EMS is excited to host a Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) course on September 22nd & 23rd, 2026!

This state-funded, two-day course is FREE to attend and is open to EMS professionals and first responders. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive their PHTLS certification, and the course also counts toward continuing education hours.

Today, we recognize the hardworking men and women who keep our community moving every day. From our first responders and healthcare workers to our teachers, tradesmen, business owners, public safety personnel, and everyone in between — thank you for the work you do and the difference you make in White County.

While many enjoy a well-deserved day off, we also want to recognize those who will spend today on the clock, continuing to serve and care for others.

🎄🚑 FILL THE MED UNIT IS BACK! 🚑🎄

White County EMS is excited to kick off our 3rd annual Fill the Med Unit Christmas drive! ❤️

Each year, our community comes together to help us provide Christmas gifts for local children in need. Our goal is simple: fill one of our med units with Christmas gifts and help make Christmas morning a little brighter for children in our community. 🎁

We are currently gathering this year’s list of children, including their ages, clothing sizes, needs, and Christmas wishes. As soon as we have everything together, we’ll share more information so everyone can choose how they would like to help!

🚑 QUICK EMS TIP

If you ever need to call 911, there are a few simple things you can do while EMS is responding that can help us reach you and begin caring for the patient faster:

🏠 Make sure your address is visible from the road.
💡 Turn on outside lights at night.
🚪 Unlock the door if possible.
🐕 Secure pets before crews arrive.
💊 Have medications or a medication list available.

In an emergency, little things can make a BIG difference. ❤️

🏆 White County EMS Earns National American Heart Association Mission: Lifeline® EMS Silver Recognition! 🚑❤️

White County EMS is proud to announce that we have been awarded the 2026 American Heart Association Mission: Lifeline® EMS Silver Achievement Award - Excellence in Stroke and STEMI Care.

This prestigious national award recognizes EMS agencies that consistently provide high-quality, evidence-based care for patients experiencing ST-elevation myocardial infarctions (STEMIs) and strokes—two of the most time-sensitive medical emergencies we respond to.

Earning this recognition is no accident. It reflects our crews’ commitment to:

🚑 Congratulations to Lieutenant-Paramedic Lauren Rumley! 🏆

We are proud to announce that LT/Paramedic Rumley has been voted Best EMS Worker in the White County News Readers’ Choice Awards! 🎉

This recognition represents so much more than responding to emergencies — it represents the compassion, leadership, and dedication Lauren brings to our community every single day.

Throughout her time with our service, Lauren has always believed that EMS is about more than the calls we run. It’s about serving our community in every way possible. One of the things Lauren has done, is started a tradition within our EMS family of “Fill the Med Unit” every Christmas, bringing our crews together to collect gifts and donations for children in our community who may otherwise go without during the holiday season. This tradition is a reminder that our mission extends beyond the ambulance — it’s about caring for our neighbors when they need us most.

Whether caring for patients on their hardest days, providing more than life-saving skills, or finding new ways to give back, Lauren continues to make a lasting impact on White County.
