BCYD President Delegate Blake Kitterman asked Rep. Kevin Brooks if he stood with sexual assault victims by expelling Durham. Apparently the question was too much and merited a block.

While local Reps Dan Howell and Kevin Brooks were SILENT about the scathing report on Rep. Jeremy Durham finding him guilty of sexual harassment of several women, YOUR Democratic candidates for State Senate District 10 responded yesterday in the debate:

Khristy Wilkinson for TN Senate 10: Women still have a lot of fighting to do to be treated like human beings by some of the men who occupy this world...I think that the General Assembly allows that working environment to continue to exist by not expelling him from the House of Representatives. I think that the described action of his interaction with the under-21 year-old college intern where he gave her beer and then had in*******se with her in his office is really behavior that's a kin to date r**e and he should probably be considered a criminal. It goes beyond treating your colleagues inappropriately, it goes to the level of human decency. I wish that he would be expelled from the House of Representatives.

Ty O'Grady for TN State Senate: I believe that what this shows is his priorities. It sounds like when he became a State Representative he did it for himself and then he got on a power trip and then started to exploit that. What that shows is he was in it for himself. What we need are folks who vote based on their conscience and what their heart tells them and people who genuinely want to do what's best for Tennesseans and that's what's driving them as we go for these offices. So when a person's doing it trying to make his name bigger or something like that or collect a bunch of interns like the guy was doing, that just shows his priorities were wrong. So we found that out, now he goes. Bye bye.
