From toddlers to senior citizens our parks offer areas to play, cool off at the splash pad, or host monthly meetings. Our mission for the Recreation and Leisure Services Department of the City of Clewiston is to create, promote, and develop diverse activities and programs that foster positive community relationships while striving to increase the social, cultural, and physical well-being of its re

sidents and guests. The Recreation and Leisure Services Department strives daily to provide:

- City parks, green spaces, and recreational facilities that are safe, secure, and clean for our city residents of all ages.
- Services that are efficient and cost effective to all city residents regardless of income, background, and/or ability.
- A plan to improve existing facilities while seeing all opportunities for future development of parks, green spaces, and recreational facilities.
- A partnership with the Clewiston community to improve the quality of life for all
citizens.

The City of Clewiston Parks & Recreation Department has a variety of programs and activities planned for September!

Seniors can stay active with our Chair Yoga program, children can build confidence and learn new skills through Taekwondo, and adults can enjoy an evening of creativity and fun at Paint Nite.

Please also note that the Parks & Recreation Department will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Additionally, there will be a private event on Wednesday, September 16, which may affect facility availability.

Be sure to check the September calendar for program dates, times, and additional activities throughout the month.

Youth Center Update

We are pleased to inform the community that the previous notice regarding the closure of the Clewiston Youth Center no longer applies. The center is now open and ready to welcome everyone!

Last Thursday’s Paint Nite was a tremendous success, and we want to thank everyone who came out and participated.

It was wonderful to see so many residents showing up, connecting with their neighbors, and enjoying an evening together. With each event, the group continues to grow, and our community continues to come together to engage, interact, and build new connections.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success. We look forward to continuing to create opportunities for our residents to come together and strengthen the sense of community that makes Clewiston special.

During the City Commission Regular Meeting on August 17, 2026, the Clewiston Little League took a moment to recognize and thank our Parks and Recreation staff for their dedication and support of the league and our local youth.

We sincerely appreciate the Clewiston Little League for this thoughtful gesture and for recognizing the hard work of our Parks and Recreation team.

Clewiston Seniors! Looking for a way to stay active, improve mobility, and spend time with others? Join us for Chair Yoga, a gentle and accessible activity designed to help senior residents keep moving while enjoying time with fellow members of the community.

Regular movement can help improve flexibility, build strength, enhance balance, and support mobility. Chair Yoga also offers a chance to spend time with friends and neighbors while taking part in a healthy activity together.

Whether you’re new to yoga or simply looking for a comfortable way to stay active, Chair Yoga is a welcoming way to move, connect, and make time for your well-being.

As we close another successful Clewiston Summer Camp, we are reminded of what makes this program so special to our community. For generations, summer camp has been a cherished part of growing up in Clewiston—a place where friendships are formed, memories are made, and lasting connections to our community are forged. It is one of the many traditions that makes America’s Sweetest Town such a special place to call home.

We are especially grateful to our campers and parents for their wonderful participation and behavior throughout the summer, and to every camp staff member, organizer, director, sponsor, and collaborator who worked together to make this summer possible. We would also like to extend a special thank-you to our final-week lunch vendors—HRMC, Chickenman Catering, Main Street Subs, LadyC Clothing, and Dis N Dat Sugah Shack—for helping make the last week of camp extra special for our campers.

We are proud to have hosted another successful summer filled with fun, friendship, memories, and community spirit. Thank you to everyone who helped make Clewiston Summer Camp 2026 a season our campers—and our community—will remember for years to come.

Last Friday, our community came together for the Back-to-School Splash Bash at the Clewiston Pool to celebrate the end of Summer 2026 and welcome the new school year.

While the weather gave us a few challenges, it did not stop families and friends from coming out to enjoy an afternoon and evening of fun, music, and community connection.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the Splash Bash a memorable way to close out the summer. We are grateful for your continued support of Clewiston Parks & Recreation and look forward to creating more opportunities for our community to come together.

Here’s to a great school year ahead.

The Clewiston C.S. Mott Pool will officially close for the season on Monday, August 10, 2026, and will remain closed for the rest of the year.

As we wrap up another great pool season, we want to thank everyone in our community who came out, enjoyed the pool, and made it a place for fun, connection, and summer memories.

A special thank you goes to our dedicated pool staff for their hard work in maintaining the facility throughout the season, our lifeguards for keeping everyone safe, and our community members for helping us create a positive experience for all. We appreciate everyone who respected the facility, helped keep the pool area clean, and took pride in caring for this shared public space.

We love seeing our community come together to enjoy, celebrate, and respect the places that bring us all closer. That is what makes Clewiston America’s Sweetest Town.

Cheers to a wonderful pool season, and thank you for making it such a success.
