We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fellow law enforcement officers of Deputy Burlie W. Duvall III, who was killed in the line of duty while assisting at a traffic crash.

The loss of a fellow law enforcement officer is felt deeply throughout the entire law enforcement family. We mourn with Appomattox County and honor Deputy Duvall’s service, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting others.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Deputy Duvall’s loved ones, his fellow deputies, and the entire Appomattox County community.

Rest easy, Deputy Duvall. We have the watch from here.

We hope that everyone enjoyed the National Night Out event last night. We appreciate everyone who attended. Everyone who set up, Lifeguard, Clifton Forge Fire Department, Sharon Fire Department, Iron Gate Fire Department, Mike Lewis with the National Guard, Safe Homes, Victim Witness, Alleghany County Sherriff's office, Ruritan's Club, DJ Brian Hambrick, Sgt Urban and K13 Mia with assistance from Landon Urban, Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, Amanda Gunter and her crew with Clifton Forge Public Works, the Clifton Forge Police Officers and Admin, CSX Police, the First Responders Toy Express, Juvenile Probation. Judge Hammond, Justin Dunbar was a great help with helping grill the Hot Dogs, Sidney and Holly Ailstock. We could not have such a great event for the community without each and every one of you!!
