Celebrating a Milestone: Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future!
Yesterday, Mercy Flight EMS - Finger Lakes gathered at John Brown Memorial Park in Clifton Springs to celebrate a historic milestone, the official integration celebration of Finger Lakes Ambulance and Mercy Flight EMS!
The atmosphere was filled with incredible energy as we looked back on a rich legacy of community service and set our sights on a bright future of enhanced care for the Finger Lakes region.
We heard inspiring words from leadership across both organizations, all sharing a unified theme of honoring our roots while stepping boldly into tomorrow. A special thank you to our speakers:
*Al Kalfass, Former Executive Director of Finger Lakes Ambulance
*Margaret Ferrentino, President of Mercy Flight Inc.
*Scott Wooton, Executive Vice President of Mercy Flight Inc.
*Bob Woodhouse, Chairman of the Board of Directors for G.W. Lisk
*Michael Bolas, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Mercy Flight
Following the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a fantastic BBQ-style lunch and shared plenty of great memories. We are incredibly grateful to the many community partners, friends and supporters who came out to support us on this momentous day. Your partnership is what keeps us moving forward!
Don't miss the video interview below!
We sat down with Mark Tornstrom, who was instrumental in bringing Advanced Life Support (ALS) to the Finger Lakes region while working for Finger Lakes Ambulance in the 1990s. Listen to him tell his story of how things have truly come full circle, tracing his career all the way back to his beginnings in EMS with LaSalle Ambulance.
