Congratulations to CPD Public Safety Telecommunicators Joe Brett, Alex Anicito, and Adriana Alvarez on completing the CIT for Telecommunicators course. This important training enhances their skills in assisting 911 callers with a mental health diagnosis or who are otherwise experiencing a crisis. These dedicated professionals all volunteered to attend, in order to better serve the public. Thank you to CIT NJ and Bergen County CIT for hosting.

The Clifton Police Department is mourning the passing of our Retired CPD Detective Sergeant, Councilman William F. Gibson. For 50 years, Bill dedicated his life to serving our city in every way that he could. His commitment to the residents of Clifton was palpable in the passion with which he spoke about and addressed their concerns. From his many years as a patrol officer, often in Botany Village, to his years as a Detective Sergeant, arresting narcotics offenders with his team of detectives, to heartfelt discussions and carefully considered decisions from the council dais, Bill Gibson always put Clifton first. His impact on the City of Clifton will endure forever. Our hearts are with Bill's wife, Robin, his daughter, Lori James, sons CPD Sgt. Scott, CPD Det. William S., and Tyler Gibson, as well as the entire Gibson family during this difficult time.

Congratulations to our newest Clifton Police Officers on their graduation from the Passaic County Police Academy! Please welcome Officer Abner Pena, Officer Matthew Reynolds, Officer Eduardo Garcia, Officer Shaye McKenna, and Officer Luke Van Winkle. They will now begin Field Training, as they start their new careers. We wish them the best of luck! Be safe!

Happy !! We are so thankful for our dedicated and talented civilian administrative staff, who are truly the heart and soul of CPD. Our combined sworn and civilian team is second to none, in professionalism and service. The chemistry and shared goals between our officers and civilian staff are what make CPD a model organization, and our administrative professionals are often leading the charge.

This past weekend, we met Victoria and Cyndi, while they were volunteering to at the Autism Awareness Touch-a-Truck event. Victoria is only in eighth grade, but she is compassionate, driven, and well on her way to her dream of becoming a psychologist. Cyndi is a Senior Public Health major at Montclair State University and was volunteering with the event hosts, Clifton Health Department! Our detectives love this annual event and are always happy to be a part of it.
