Bosque County Republican Party

Bosque County Republican Party The People's Party
It all started with people who opposed slavery. In 1856, the Republicans became a national party by nominating John C. Fremont for President.

They were common, everyday people who bristled at the notion that men had any right to oppress their fellow man. In the early 1850’s, these anti-slavery activists found commonality with rugged individuals looking to settle in western lands, free of government charges. “Free soil, free labor, free speech, free men,” went the slogan. And it was thus in joint opposition to human enslavement and gover

nment tyranny that an enterprising people gave birth to the Republican Party. Four years later, with the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860, the Republicans firmly established themselves as a major political party. The name "Republican" was chosen because it alluded to equality and reminded individuals of Thomas Jefferson's Democratic-Republican Party. All of Us Equal
In 1861, the Civil War erupted, lasting four grueling years. During the war, against the advice of his cabinet, President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation that freed the slaves. The Republicans of the day worked to pass the Thirteenth Amendment, which outlawed slavery; the Fourteenth Amendment, which guaranteed equal protection under the laws; and the Fifteenth, which helped secure voting rights for African-Americans. All of these accomplishments extended and cemented the fundamental freedoms our nation continues to enjoy today. The Republican Party also played a leading role in securing women the right to vote. In 1896, the Republican Party was the first major political party to support women's suffrage. When the 19th Amendment finally was added to the Constitution, 26 of 36 state legislatures that had voted to ratify it were under Republican control. The first woman elected to Congress was a Republican, Jeanette Rankin from Montana in 1917. So it was by hardworking Republican hands that color and gender barriers were first demolished in America. Free from Oppression
Republicans believe individuals, not government, can make the best decisions; all people are entitled to equal rights; and decisions are best made close to home. These basic principles are as true today as they were when the Party was founded. For all of the extraordinary leaders the Party has produced throughout its rich history, Republicans understand that everyday people in all 50 states and territories remain the heart and soul of our Party. Presidents during most of the late nineteenth century and the early part of the twentieth century were Republicans. The White House was in Republican hands under Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush. Under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, the United States won the Cold War, releasing millions from Communist oppression, in true anti-big government Republican spirit. Elephants, Not Donkeys
The symbol of the Republican Party is the elephant. During the mid term elections in 1874, Democrats tried to scare voters into thinking President Ulysses S. Grant would seek to run for an unprecedented third term. Thomas Nast, a cartoonist for Harper's Weekly, depicted a Democratic donkey trying to scare a Republican elephant - and both symbols stuck. For a long time, Republicans have been known as the "G.O.P." with party faithful believing it meant the "Grand Old Party." But apparently the original meaning (in 1875) was "gallant old party." When automobiles were invented it also came to mean, "get out and push." That's still a pretty good slogan for Republicans who depend every campaign year on the hard work of hundreds of thousands of everyday volunteers to get out and vote and push people to support the causes of the Republican Party. Freedom Fighters
Abolition. Free speech. Women's suffrage. These were all causes the Republican Party adopted early on. So, too, were reducing the size of government, streamlining bureaucracy, and returning power to individual states. With a core belief in the primacy of individuals, the Republican Party, since its inception, has been at the forefront of the fight for individuals' rights in opposition to a large, intrusive government. In addition to taking away farmland, it takes an abundance of natural resources to make all the “clean energy” equipment. Furthermore, the government should not be subsidizing wind or solar.

National Day of Prayer May 7, 2026
Theme: Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations

“Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.”
1 Chronicles 16:24 NASB

The National Day of Prayer exists to mobilize unified public prayer for America. In this historic year, we’re honoring both the 75th observance of the National Day of Prayer and the 250th year since
the founding of the United States.
Join believers all across America on Thursday, May 7, in making this declaration of personal rededication on the National Day of Prayer.

2026 NATIONAL PRAYER
Almighty God, King of Glory, we confess our sins and repent of our pride that sought our own glory and comfort, allowing evil to take root instead of Your fruit in our hearts, homes, culture, and country.
Please forgive us.
Now, with this declaration of rededication, we humble ourselves, pray, and seek Your face, turning from our wicked ways, that You would heal our lives and our land. Please purify and renew our hearts with holy attributes, affections, attitudes, and actions—to love You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We give You glory as we repent and rededicate our lives and our nation to You.
For 250 years You have guarded and guided America in wisdom, grace, mercy, and love. We praise and thank You for our Founding Fathers, for all who sought You in fervent prayer throughout history and
answered Your call to defend justice and freedom; to protect and serve, preach and teach, innovate, communicate, learn, work, worship, and establish our laws.
May Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done in our lives, our Families, the Church, Education, Business, Military, Government, Arts, Entertainment and Media as it is in heaven.
We prayerfully commit to “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations.”
In Jesus’ name, Amen!

PRAY FOR THESE SEVEN CENTERS OF INFLUENCE IN OUR NATION:
1. GOVERNMENT
Scripture
Psalm 24:3-6; Psalm 111:6-9; Psalm 33:10-12
Prayer
Lord of heaven and earth, we dedicate our government and pray that all who serve will seek Your authority, purposes, and glory. God of every generation and nation, we seek Your face and as we pray for our government. May every person who serves in government surrender his or her life, and seek Your will in the laws and leadership of our land. We pray that You would be glorified in each branch; Executive, Legislative, and Judicial, that every person would be a holy branch committed and abiding in You, The Vine. Please compel them to work in godliness, according to Your will and Word, for Your glory and not their own benefit, knowing that You are the rewarder of obedience. Please saturate
them in Your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Prompt them to seek You as they steer and steward this great nation where You have lavishly shed Your grace and blessings for 250 years. To You
alone be the glory, praise, and honor.
2. MILITARY
Scripture
Psalm 24:7; Psalm 84:11; Hebrews 11:6
Prayer
Commander of Heaven’s Army, we dedicate our military to You and seek You as You alone determine the time for war and the time for peace. King of Glory, we pray that every generation of our military
would seek you and You would be glorified as their refuge, reward, and strength. Throughout the ranks and years of service, from boot camp to retirement, Lord we pray for our military. Please guard them as they guard us, providing domestic tranquility and freedom around the world. Our nation began with a revolution, and in all the wars and missions since, we thank You God for being mighty in battle. We lift up our military members and their families as they sacrifice and serve, seeking to follow Your commands as You lead their lives and those who lead them.
3. ARTS, ENTERTAINMENT, & MEDIA
Scripture
Psalm 47:1-2; Psalm 57:9-10; 1 Peter 4:10
Prayer
Creator God of all that exists and the Giver of all gifts, we dedicate our gifts and talents back to You in Arts, Entertainment, and Media seeking to express our awe and Your glory. Lord God, Creator of heaven and earth, You have given us abounding beauty and unfathomable glory that surrounds and fills the universe. Open our eyes and hearts to You in worship and praise as we see and experience all
that You have given us and the gifts to learn more, explore, express our awe, and celebrate Your goodness as we reflect and magnify You through the arts, entertainment, and media. Cleanse our screens, stages, and sports from anything that does not glorify You and draws people away from You. Please pour out Your love and write Your Word on the hearts of the hurting who need healing. Bring forth
truth in writing, posting, and messaging in all media. Be glorified in every talent, ability, and gift You have given, that we may sing, dance, draw, write, paint, sculpt, play sports, act, invent, and create in reflection and in dedication to You, the God who created us and all that exists for Your glory.
4. BUSINESS & WORKPLACE
Scripture
Psalm 33:10-11; Psalm 90:16-17; Matthew 5:16
Prayer
Sovereign God, we dedicate our work to You and seek to follow You and give You all the glory as our work is worship to You. Almighty God, Author of our days and every opportunity, we seek Your plans
and purposes daily in every decision in our workplace, knowing all we do is unto You. Every job has Kingdom purpose; a place to serve You, to be salt and light and use our God-given abilities to glorify You even if we don’t see the results right away or every day. Keep us from seeking prideful or personal fame, or the love of fortune that distracts from Your plans and steals Your glory. You are the rewarder of obedience, excellence, and diligence. Guide us to be spiritually successful, to carry our load, making You known in word and deed as we work to glorify You and support our families.
5. EDUCATION
Scripture
Philippians 1:9-10; Matthew 7:7-8; Psalm 145:4
Prayer
Jesus, our Teacher, we dedicate our lives to seeking Your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding; and to apply these to our daily lives for Your glory. Lord, we are Your disciples, Your students seeking to know You and the wisdom that only comes from walking with You. We pray that everyone who teaches, learns, and serves in education will glorify You in curriculum, conduct, and character. We pray that students will be taught essential academics not manipulating agendas. We remember Your precepts and promises regarding the protection and teaching of children and to bring them to You and bring them up seeking You and never hindering, disregarding, or deceiving the youth.
6. CHURCH
Scripture
1 Chronicles 16:29-31; Ephesians 3:20-21; Revelation 5:9
Prayer
Lord, we dedicate our lives to You as our Lord and Savior and seek to live in Your will for Your glory.
Almighty and awesome Lord, You are the head of the Church, we are Your body, Your bride, Your servants and we ascribe the glory due Your name that is above every name. Shepherd us as we seek and
share Your good news, to know You and make You known. We desire and aspire to obey and serve You through Your love and power working within us. Help us to draw people to You through Your love and the good deeds done in Your name. Fill us with courage and compassion that does not compromise and love that does not judge. To You be the glory in the Church, in every generation and nation.
7. FAMILY
Scripture
Deuteronomy 7:9; Psalm 22:27-28; Exodus 3:14-15
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we dedicate our families to You, loving and supporting one another as You have loved us. Everlasting Father, thank You for bringing us into Your family, that the blood and love of Jesus have given us access to the Father so we can be called children of God. Thank you for establishing our families and creating us for relationships. We pray for the covenant of marriage as You ordained it from the beginning. Draw every family to seek you in their decisions, priorities, and activities. You establish where we live, work, serve, and worship. We pray every generation would pray, study Your Word, seek You, and glorify You together as Your family.

Thank you for participating in National Day of Prayer 2026!
We believe in the power of prayer, and we
know that when God’s people pray, change happens.
