FRIENDS of the Clifton Public Library The Friends of the Clifton Public Library is a volunteer group which supports the Clifton Public Library through programming and fundraising.

FRIENDS of the Clifton Public Library was formed in 1985 by supportive members of the community. Through our dedicated efforts in fundraising and volunteer work, FRIENDS has played a significant role in the development of the Library, its facilities and cultural programs.

Come to the Allwood Library and take a look at all the wonderful and unique items for sale in our Pop-Up Gift Gallery! We will be featuring items from the Pop-Up here on this account each week. Perhaps you need a last-minute Father's Day gift? There are a couple of golf-themed items on display. Do you need a vintage three-tiered display stand for your next tea party? Or perhaps you want a beaded bracelet for your BFF's birthday? Remember, first come, first served! All sales are final and cash only. And if you don't find what you want at the Pop-Up, remember to visit our Gift Gallery at the Main Library, on the first floor.

On April 23, FRIENDS of the Clifton Public Library sponsored a poetry reading by four local award-winning poets. Reading poetry is so rewarding, but to hear the words from the mouths of the authors is something to experience, their feelings, their thoughts, the inspiration that led them to that finished work - if you have an opportunity to listen to poetry, read by the authors, I encourage you to do so. We’re certainly going to have more poetry events later in the year. Thanks to Maria Mazziotti Gillan, Jim Gwyn, Frances Lombardi-Grahl and Jacqueline Wooten-Rose for participating in our event.

If you weren’t able to attend our Semi-Annual Membership Meeting on April 29, you missed a great show by Clint Edwards, composer, arranger, pianist and Clifton resident! It was an unforgettable evening, featuring a multimedia presentation filled with photos, music, and anecdotes celebrating the legendary Marvin Hamlisch and Barbra Streisand. We have picture frames, beautiful costume jewelry, home decor and many other great gifts. You'll definitely find something for Mom! It’s but we are also running our annual Membership Drive. There’s a table set up in the Main Memorial Library as well as in the Allwood Library branch. If you’re not currently a member, we need you! Your dues help FRIENDS support and fund many library services and programs for children, teens and adults. If you’re currently a member, please come in and renew your membership for 2026. Anyone who joins or renews will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to in Clifton. This generous gift was donated by Dana M. Williams and DMW Realty Group/eXP Realty International. Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., whose work for justice, equality and peace continues to inspire.
MLK Day is a day of service, and a powerful way to take part is through learning.
Visit the library to explore books on the Civil Rights Movement and Dr. King's legacy.
As he reminded us, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'" and "The time is always right to do the right thing."
