FRIENDS of the Clifton Public Library The Friends of the Clifton Public Library is a volunteer group which supports the Clifton Public Library through programming and fundraising.

FRIENDS of the Clifton Public Library was formed in 1985 by supportive members of the community. Through our dedicated efforts in fundraising and volunteer work, FRIENDS has played a significant role in the development of the Library, its facilities and cultural programs.

Just a reminder... if you'd like to have your super-secret family recipe included in the Clifton Public Library cookbook, it needs to be submitted by October 1. Just scan the barcode in the photo and fill out the forms. Be sure to mention any special family traditions that are associated with your recipe. Book details and availability will be announced at a later date.

Are you worried about all the scams targeting our senior citizens? Well, if you're a senior, come to our September 15 event. If your parents are seniors and you're worried about them being targeted, come to our event.
Do you love the opera? Maestro Butts will be here again on September 24, this time talking about Carmen and why it's one of the most unforgettable operas written.

On July 19 FRIENDS of the Clifton Public Library had a table at the second Oster concert of the summer. It featured the Clifton Community Band performing patriotic and Americana songs to celebrate 250 years of America!
The FRIENDS table was manned by our VP, Anne Schapiro, and we thank her for her time. We’d also like to thank the Clifton community for their generous cash donations.
When you see our table out in the wild, be sure to stop by and chat. We’ll always have flyers and announcements of our future events, and if you’re not already a member, you can join anytime you see us!

A little late, but we couldn’t let the opportunity pass to share a glimpse of what you missed if you weren’t able to join us on July 25 for “We Were There: Blacks in the American Revolution.”

Our speaker and re-enactor, Leon Vaughn, brought this important chapter of American history to life as he shared the stories and contributions of Black men during the Revolutionary War — including those who fought alongside George Washington and those who served with the British Army.

Dressed in period attire and carrying a musket, Mr. Vaughn truly made history come alive. His presentation was both engaging and thought-provoking, reminding us that the story of the American Revolution includes the experiences, sacrifices, and contributions of Black Americans as well.

We’re grateful to Mr. Vaughn for sharing these important stories with our community — and we hope these photos give you a little taste of this fascinating afternoon!

IT'S SHOWTIME!!!!
A few weeks ago we invited your children to sign up for the Musical Theater Series.
Well, it's time to watch them shine!
Come to on Thursday, July 30th, at 12pm, and watch them perform! They've learned a LOT in four weeks and they're eager to show you!
All ages are welcome, so be sure to bring grandma and grandpa, baby sis or baby bro, or even your cat-sitter!

Here's a special treat for children ages 2-5! Does your child like to sing? How about bringing them to the on Tuesday 7/28 to sit around a "campfire" outdoors and sing some camping tunes and enjoy an age-appropriate activity! Happy Campers presents Campfire Tales, sponsored by FRIENDS of the Clifton Public Library. Seats are limited and registration IS REQUIRED.
