On June 18, 2026, at approximately 2:25 p.m., Clifton Fire Protection District was dispatched to the area of Perkins Drive for a reported vehicle-versus-building incident.

Upon arrival, crews found a pickup truck that had left the roadway for unknown reasons, traveled through a fence, and collided with a storage unit.

The driver was evaluated on scene and transported to a local hospital. No additional injuries were reported.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.

Clifton Fire Protection District would like to thank everyone who attended and supported Glow N Games 2026.

The event brought together community members, first responders, local businesses, and supporters from across the Grand Valley for an evening of fun, friendly competition, and fundraising benefiting Special Olympics Colorado.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, volunteers, participants, and community members, Glow N Games 2026 helped raise more than $20,000 for Special Olympics Colorado, supporting athletes across the state through sports training, competition, health and wellness programs, and leadership opportunities.

We are grateful for everyone who helped make this event a success and for the continued support of our community. Together, we are making a difference both on and off the field.

Due to fire restrictions going into effect, Mesa County Public Health has extended a No Burn Advisory until further notice.

Last week, Clifton Fire Protection District and the Mesa County Wildland Team completed a Wildland-Urban Interface mitigation project in the Autumn Breeze subdivision.

Crews worked to reduce wildfire risk by removing ladder fuels, dead and downed vegetation, and other hazardous fuels, improving defensible space and firefighter access throughout the area.

This project also provided valuable training for participating personnel and strengthened the overall resilience of the neighborhood.

Thank you to all crews involved for their hard work and collaboration in protecting our community.
