🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE – MANUFACTURING DRIVE 🚧

Effective Monday, February 2

A section of Manufacturing Drive — from South 21st Street to Valley West Drive — will be closed to through traffic beginning February 2 as crews begin the reconstruction of the Mill Creek bridge. This phase is expected to take up to 8 months, with completion planned for September 30, 2026.

🚦 Detours
All through traffic should follow the marked detour using South 14th Street and Highway 30. Please watch for posted signage and allow extra travel time.
🏪 Local Businesses Remain Open!
✔ SJ Smith: Access from the north via South 21st Street
✔ Awesome Car Wash, Laundry Max, Eastern Iowa Tire, Brent’s Firehouse Coffee: Access from the south via Valley West Drive
Temporary signs will help guide customers to each business.

🔧 What’s Ahead
Later phases in 2026 will include reconstruction of the 21st Street intersection and a new roundabout at South 19th Street. More updates to come!

As a reminder, due to the extreme cold, the MTA will be providing FREE fixed route bus rides both today, January 23, 2026 and tomorrow, January 24, 2026, to help citizens to warming stations.

Warming station locations:
-Recovery Community Center, 9am to 7pm
-Victory Center Ministries, 9am to 5pm
