This past weekend, members of Van Buren County Rescue Squad proudly attended the Arkansas Search and Rescue Association’s (ASARA) State Search and Rescue Conference. Hosted at Arkansas Tech University, the conference brought together SAR professionals and volunteers from across the state to train, collaborate, and share best practices in wilderness rescue, disaster response, K9 deployment, technical rescue, and more.

Our team participated in hands-on scenarios and specialized workshops designed to sharpen skills and reinforce the standards that keep our communities safe during times of crisis. Two of our members also participated in the Wilderness First Aid class, that’s geared specifically for SAR team members. We’re grateful for the opportunity to represent our agency and to continue learning alongside fellow first responders who share the same mission—to serve and protect when it matters most.

A special thank you to ASARA and all the instructors and agencies who made this conference possible.
