Last night, members drilled on vertical ventilation techniques utilizing our roof prop. Various techniques and saws were utilized to simulate residential and commercial type roofs. Ventilation is a key component of fire attack and is done in coordination with fire suppression by the Engine company.

Clinton, Pattenburg, Quakertown, Annandale, and NJ Forest Fire Service units are operating at a brush fire in the area of Bank Street in Union Township. Multiple power lines are down affecting power service to portions of Clinton and Union. Avoid the area of Bank Street and the R78 x13 offramp due to road closures.

On the evening of May 19th, The Clinton Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Old Highway 22. Wagon 45 was the first arriving unit stretching a line and knocking down the bulk of the fire. In coordination with our mutual aid partners, we were able to keep the fire to the area of origin with minor extension into the attic. Good work by all companies on scene.

Wagon 45 responded to assist PVFC with multiple brush fires along the railroad line this afternoon.

Today the former Lehigh Valley railroad tracks were the sight of many brush fires in Union Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
Brake shoes will seize up on the trains going around some of these bends and throw molten metal off into the weeds causing these fires. There were plumes of smoke visible for miles after the event today.
If you needed a reason not to walk heavily active trackage, here is one. Getting hit by some of that spark would certainly not feel good.

Congratulations are in order for two CFD Volunteers:

Firefighter Kyle Howard has successfully completed his NJ Firefighter 1 Academy training and joins the team as a certified firefighter.

Firefighter Tanner Rogers (left) graduates from Penn State University. FF Rogers served as a live-in Lieutenant with the Alpha Fire Company serving State College, PA while he attended school.

Awesome job gentlemen! Keep up the good work.
