Keep fighting the good fight Spencer.

I had not planned to say anything about the “independent” candidate in this race, but two things happened this week that changed my mind.

First, he filmed a video of my neighborhood and posted it online. I understand that when I became a public figure, I gave up some privacy. But over the past year, my family has received multiple threats to our safety, including messages threatening graphic ways my children would be murdered. He had a legal right to post that video, but doing so showed poor judgment, poor taste, and a lack of respect for my children’s safety.

Second, he made a weak attempt to appeal to conservative voters, even though his record shows he is more of a Democratic Socialist candidate. Both his decision to go after my family home and his attempts to hide who he really is warrant some straight talk about him and this race. A few things to know:

-He ran in this year’s Democratic primary to serve as a state convention delegate for the losing, far-left Democratic socialist candidate for Secretary of State.
-He recently spoke at an event organized by actual socialists and accepted funding from a Socialist Party of Indiana candidate who is challenging Commons for Statehouse - District 13
-He suspiciously refuses to say how he would vote on some of our most hot-button issues.
-He wants to raise many of your taxes.
-He has only voted in Democratic primaries.

Over the past four years, I’ve taken votes and positions on all kinds of issues. Many of them are complex and easily distorted. That means just about everyone has had a reason to disagree with me at some point. That will always be a part of representative government, but it should never be a reason to allow yourself to be deceived by a socialist-affiliated candidate.

The phrase “divide and conquer” is often misunderstood. It is not a call for teamwork. It describes the strategy of defeating an opponent by getting them to fracture as shown in this famous Ben Franklin cartoon. While there are more than enough center, center-right, and conservative voters in District 23 to defeat both my far-left Democrat opponent and my Democratic socialist-aligned “independent” opponent, their strategy is to pretend they are something they are not in order to divide the center-right coalition.

They want to create a path for the far left to take over. Do not let them. If you prefer a candidate to your left, that’s your right. But I know most in District 23 do not. Stay clear of the trap they are laying by once again, entrusting me with your vote on November 3.

American elections are for American citizens.

A Vigo County resident faces felony charges for allegedly registering unlawfully, committing perjury, and voting in six elections between 2018 and 2024 despite being a noncitizen.

I commend Todd Rokita and Prosecutor Terry Modesitt for pursuing these allegations.

As Secretary of State, I’ll work with Rokita to strengthen citizenship verification and enforce our election laws.

Daniel Elliott has earned $1.8 BILLION for Hoosiers through smart investing.

When Indiana earns more, taxpayers pay less. As State Treasurer, Daniel manages state funds with the same discipline and conservative values that you use at your own kitchen table.

Four years of proven results. Let’s keep it going.

Vote Daniel Elliott for State Treasurer on Nov 3!

As a staffer at Purdue, I used to create charts inspired by an earlier version of this one to make the case for freezing higher education costs. Today, the chart tells a much bigger story about the national pressures we are up against, but none of us needs a chart to know that most things cost more and fixing it isn't a simple task.

A question I often hear is: Can Indiana do anything about it, or must we rely on the federal government?

While Indiana can’t solve the main causes of inflation, we can take meaningful steps to lower costs and avoid making things worse.

Here are four ways we’re working to make life more affordable:

1. Healthcare: Indiana is holding nonprofit hospitals accountable, promoting price transparency and reining in the middlemen who drive up prescription drug costs. As a member of the Senate Health Committee, I’ve been directly involved in these efforts.

2. Electricity: HEA 1002 requires investor-owned utilities to prioritize reliability and affordability or face financial consequences. I was a cosponsor on the bill and I also co-authored a bipartisan bill to increase transparency around data centers and their impact on electricity costs. Although it hasn’t passed yet, I’ll keep fighting for Data Center reforms and to end their tax subsidies.

3. Housing: We’re working to remove regulations that restrict housing supply and drive up construction costs. Last year’s HEA 1001 was a start, and we’re already working on a follow-up that will move the needle even more.

4. Taxes: I supported legislation to lower Indiana’s income tax rate to 2.9% by 2027, saving Hoosiers an estimated $2 billion. We’ve also provided tax relief on military income, tips and overtime, along with property tax reforms.

As your state senator, I’ll keep prioritizing affordability and pushing the federal government to do its part. I also will continue to defend your ability to hold them accountable if they don't.

You earned your money. I want you to keep more of it—and for it to go further in providing for your family! *
