The Southeastern Economic Development Commission (SEDC) recently hosted its 58th Annual Meeting, bringing together leaders and partners from across Southeastern North Carolina to discuss regional economic growth, infrastructure investment, workforce development, and collaboration.

The meeting highlighted major regional investments and initiatives supporting economic opportunity across Southeastern NC, including infrastructure projects, EDA funding successes, and the continued impact of the Southeast Crescent Regional Commission (SCRC) SEID program.

Sampson County Economic Development is proud to continue working alongside regional, state, and local partners to support strategic growth and strengthen opportunities for our communities.

We also congratulate Executive Director Ray Jordan on being elected Chairman of SEDC for the coming year.

Sampson County Economic Development cordially invites you to attend the Inaugural Sampson 360 Event.

Sampson 360 was developed to address one of the major goals identified within the Sampson County Economic Development Strategic Plan, which is to Connect Sampson County, Municipalities, and Businesses to Advance Community and Economic Development.

Community connection is a key economic development strategy because strong local relationships foster collaboration, trust, and a shared vision for growth. Engaged and connected leaders and citizens are more likely to support local businesses, participate in initiatives, and contribute to a vibrant, resilient economy. Sampson County and its citizens can benefit from stronger governmental, civic, nonprofit organizations, and businesses working collaboratively to achieve a common vision.

Sampson 360 is a key strategy towards the implementation of this high priority goal. SCED is working to be a connector that fosters collaboration between organizations across all sectors. Sampson 360 was developed to offer events and activities to help build community awareness and support.

The Inaugural event, โ€œTrends to Watch: Preparing Sampson County for Tomorrowโ€™s Economyโ€ and will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Sampson County Exposition Center. Your attendance, participation, and support are greatly appreciated.

This forward-looking event will feature Ted Abernathy, a nationally recognized expert in workforce and economic development, who will share practical, market-driven insights designed specifically for business and industry leaders navigating rapid change.

Sampson 360 - Driving Growth. Building Opportunity!

Sampson 360, is a new initiative recently launched developed to inform, connect, and unite leaders from across Sampson County in support of long-term economic growth and community vitality.

Sampson 360 โ€“ with the tagline โ€œDriving Growth. Building Opportunity!โ€ will present events curated by Sampson County Economic Development that will include speaker events, seminars, and educational programs focused on the trends and forces shaping Sampson Countyโ€™s economic growth, community vitality, and long-term competitiveness.

This initiative is designed to bring together leaders from business, government, agribusiness, education, healthcare, nonprofits, and the broader community to encourage collaboration, shared understanding, and strategic action.

โ€œSampson 360 reflects our belief that strong connections and informed leadership are essential to economic success,โ€ said Chuck Spell, Chair, of the Sampson County Economic Development Advisory Board. โ€œBy bringing diverse voices to the table and providing a 360-degree perspective on opportunities and challenges, we can better align our efforts as we work together to move Sampson County forward.โ€

Through Sampson 360 events, participants will learn, connect, and collaborate to examine current challenges, anticipate future trends, and develop strategies that drive economic growth, competitiveness, and community vitality. This program is designed to foster cross-sector dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and coordinated action that supports the long-term prosperity and resilience of Sampson County and its residents.

โ€œSampson 360 is an important step in strengthening communication and collaboration across Sampson County,โ€ said Allen McLamb, Chair of the Sampson County Board of Commissioners. โ€œBy bringing together leaders from business, education, agribusiness, healthcare, nonprofits, and local government, this initiative can help ensure our community is working to enhance economic growth and long-term prosperity for our county's residents.โ€

The inaugural Sampson 360 event, โ€œTrends to Watch: Preparing Sampson County for Tomorrowโ€™s Economy,โ€ will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Heritage Hall, Sampson County Exposition Center, 414 Warsaw Road, Clinton, NC 28328. Doors open for at 11:30 a.m., and the program begins at 12:00 p.m. The event will feature Ted Abernathy, a nationally recognized expert in workforce and economic development, as the keynote speaker.

Attendees will gain actionable insights on key trends shaping Sampson Countyโ€™s economic landscape over the next 5โ€“10 years, including workforce development, emerging technologies, entrepreneurial growth, industrial and commercial infrastructure, energy and power considerations, societal shifts affecting quality of life, and economic competitiveness in a changing national and global context. Topics will also include the implications of artificial intelligence and automation, U.S. industrial policy, and using data analytics to guide economic development strategies.
