Great things happen when people come together with a shared goal.
City of Clinton, Tennessee partnered with Clinton City Schools, local industries, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley to create a workforce childcare program designed to help local employers recruit and retain employees while providing families with quality childcare at a significantly reduced cost.
Through collaboration, the City secured a $453,000 CDBG grant, and in coordination with the Boys & Girls Club, an additional $950,000 DHS childcare grant was awarded.
This project also gave us the opportunity to breathe new life into the Armory, a building that had not seen significant renovations in more than 30 years.
The work being done here has received statewide recognition, including an East Tennessee Development District Achievement Award and recognition from Tennesseans for Quality Early Education.
Projects like this don’t happen because of one person. They happen when city leaders, our schools, local businesses, community organizations, and citizens work together toward something bigger.
That’s how we continue moving Clinton forward.
