Join us in congratulating Firefighter Shain Kaiser for successfully completing the classroom portion of EMT certification training! Firefighter Kaiser completed his training through the Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance EMT training program, graduating from the course yesterday evening.

The 3-step training program required to obtain EMT licensure involves a rigorous 4-6 month training course, successfully passing a national accredited EMT skills checkoff, and finally successfully passing a written exam administered by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). To date, Firefighter Kaiser has successfully completed 2 of the 3 steps. He is scheduled to take his NREMT exam sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Firefighter Kaisers’ dedication to obtaining his EMT licensure directly reflects the mission of commitment our department has in providing a wide scale of services to the community we have sworn to protect. This required training to retain employment is not something that is easily accomplished. We are proud of Firefighter Kaiser for putting in the work to get this far. Now, we extend our support and encouragement to him as he prepares for his national exam.

Congratulations, Shain!

CITY OF CLINTON TO CONDUCT MONTHLY STORM SIREN TESTING TODAY, MAY 06, 2026...

The City of Clinton will be conducting a monthly testing of the outdoor storm sirens today at 12:00 noon. This scheduled test is designed to ensure proper operations of the sirens functions. The test will be a full cycle test meaning the sirens will sound for approximately 60 seconds.

A reminder that outdoor storm sirens are meant to be heard outdoors only. They are intended to alert citizens that may be outdoors and away from normal alerting systems such as NOAA radio, television, or local radio. Some citizens may be able to hear the sirens inside their homes due to the proximity of their home to a storm siren. However, again, sirens are not meant to be heard indoors.

We strongly encourage all citizens to purchase a NOAA weather radio AND pay attention to daily weather briefings to keep updated on the potential for severe weather.

Monthly tests are important to ensure the outdoor storm sirens are functioning properly. Monthly tests can be canceled due to inclement weather on the day of a scheduled test. In the event the test is canceled, the test for that month will not be conducted. Some people have asked why we do not reschedule a test that may be canceled due to weather. Our technology allows us to "poll" each siren to ensure proper communication without sounding the sirens. This process takes place on months where a test is canceled to at least ensure the sirens are communicating with our software.
