Voyage Academy opened in the Fall of 2013 and offers a style of teaching known as Expeditionary Learning. This approach involves hands on experience by taking the child outside of the classroom to learn. Students participate in semester long studies called expeditions that will teach them in depth information about a topic as well as meet the State core curriculum requirements. EL also teaches st

udents team work skills by working in daily groups called "Crews" It is in these Crews that students are encouraged by their fellow peers to compete, not against each other but, against their best selves in achieving their greatest results. Our graduating Vikings returned for a graduation walk, and this group holds a unique place in our hearts because they were the very first kindergarten class when our school opened. Seeing them walk our halls again, now as seniors, was a full-circle moment we’ll never forget.

They were able to find their kindergarten handprints still hanging on our mural, a sweet reminder of just how much they’ve grown, not only in size, but in character.
We are so proud of who they have become. Our current students were inspired by their visit, soaking in their advice and looking up to them as examples of what’s possible.
