CERT Basic 2026 is in the books!

Over the course of three days, our 13 participants trained on Disaster Psychology, Run-Hide-Fight, Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety and Utility Controls, Disaster Medical Operations, and Light Search and Rescue. All performed admirably, and were terrific students!

Emergency Management could not have provided this training without the help of many volunteers, instructors, and other community partners. We are truly grateful for all of their contributions!

Clinton County Emergency Management Agency would like to express our sincere gratitude to Casey's in Dewitt, IA, for their generous donation of pizza and bottled water in support of our first responders during last night's incident near Welton.

First responders are often required to remain on scene for extended periods, making access to food and water a significant challenge. The staff at Casey's who were working last night responded quickly to our request and ensured we had the supplies needed to support first responders working the incident.

We are truly grateful for the generosity of community partners that support those who serve. Thank you!

Tuesday, April 14, 2026 - 9:00 A.M.

Please see the updated graphic from the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, which introduces a Level 2 tornado intensity threat that includes portions of northern Clinton County through tonight. If a tornado develops in this area, it has the potential to reach EF3 or higher. This does not mean that tonight's storms are guaranteed to produce a tornado, only that they are likely to be more significant if they do form.

As always, stay weather aware, have multiple ways to receive warnings, and take appropriate protective actions when necessary.
