Laurens County Special Needs has changed their name officially to Pathwise, and what a great choice. We got to celebrate it today. It has been a blessing to volunteer with this group for 30 plus years. It made my day as I walked down the steps to see them and they were yelling “It’s Mark”. Very thankful for these friendships.

FFA day is always great. Laurens Dist 55 and Hillcrest High visited. My favorite of all time is when I asked about animals being raised and if they named them. A student shared she has 3 pigs named after her old boyfriends mothers! We also slipped down to take a look in the State House basement.

We are proud of Randall-Nancy Garrison for testifying before an Agricultural Subcommittee, in an effort to provide protection to horses from fireworks. Garrison Farm is home to show horses and provides riding lessons. They have experienced horses injured by neighboring fireworks.

Greenville County Schools will have an eLearning day Monday, January 26. Schools and office buildings will be closed. All activities, including athletic events and field trips, are canceled. This decision was made based on the forecasts and timing for ice, freezing rain and sleet, which may result in unsafe road conditions, downed power lines, and loss of electrical services. Because we are an approved eLearning district, this day will not have to be made up and instruction will be provided virtually. Learn more: https://tinyurl.com/4jmzxu9f
