🚨 Stay Alert: Cryptocurrency Scams Are on the Rise 🚨
Scammers are increasingly using cryptocurrency as a way to steal money from unsuspecting consumers. Reported losses involving crypto kiosks exceed $100 million nationwide annually. Effective 7/1/26, Tennessee will be banning cryptocurrency kiosks (crypto ATMs) in an effort to help protect consumers from these scams. No matter where you are located though, here are a few ways to protect yourself:
🔐 Never respond to unexpected calls, texts, emails, or pop-up messages requesting money.
🔐 Don't let anyone rush you into making a financial decision.
🔐 Never withdraw cash or purchase cryptocurrency because someone instructed you to do so.
🔐 Be cautious if someone tells you to keep a transaction secret.
🔐 If you choose to buy or trade cryptocurrency, only use trusted exchanges and never share private wallet information.
When it comes to your finances, a healthy dose of skepticism can save you thousands. If something doesn't feel right, pause and talk with someone you trust before taking action.
