Member Monday features B-Shift Battalion Chief Nick Carlson. BC Carlson is stationed at Central Fire Station, and he oversees purchasing, maintenance, and repair of CFD apparatus.

Please join us in welcoming our two newest members, Nate Helstrom (pictured left) and Kaden Walters (right), to the Clinton Fire Department family! FF's Helstrom and Walters are nearing the finish line of their 6-week in-house academy and will join their respective shifts next week.

We are excited to have them join our team and begin serving the citizens and visitors of our community. Here are their quick bios:

FF Helstrom: I was born in McKinney, TX and then moved to Iowa, where I graduated from Davenport Central. I have always had a passion for personal growth and serving others, so I decided to apply for CFD. I am excited to build new skills and contribute to something meaningful. I look forward to the camaraderie, brother/sisterhood, and sense of purpose that come with being a member of CFD.

FF Walters: I was born and raised in Clinton, graduating from Clinton High School in 2025. Joining CFD means a lot to me because Clinton has always been my home. Joining CFD is a true honor and privilege. Serving the city I grew up in is something I take a lot of pride in. I've always wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself and I'm grateful for the opportunity to work at CFD.

EMS Week 2026 - Improving Outcomes, together.

As we recognize 2026 EMS Week, we thank our EMS professionals at CFD for their professionalism, compassion, and pre-hospital clinical excellence they bring every shift.

Our community is fortunate to be served by our dedicated ALS providers who consistently strive to perform at the highest level possible during some of the most challenging moments of our citizen's lives. Whether it's a medical emergency, traumatic injury, or simply providing reassurance to someone in need, our crews consistently strive to serve with pride and professionalism.

We also recognize and thank our neighboring EMS agencies who work alongside us and make the same commitment to excellence. As the theme for EMS week 2026 goes: "Improving Outcomes, together", the teamwork between EMS agencies throughout our region plays a major role in providing the highest level of pre-hospital care possible to our patients.

A huge thank you to all EMS professionals during EMS Week 2026!
