Citizens for Scott Bengtson

I was born and have lived in Clinton for 40 years. I have been married to Donna Bengtson for 18 years. We have two daughters, Courtney and Cammi. I worked for the City of Clinton in the Public Works Department for nine years. Seven of those years I served as the Union President, working with the City on many issues. I served on the safety committee, health insurance committee, negotiations committ

ee. I reviewed budgets from numerous funds and gave recommendations to the council. Since leaving the city I have volunteered for numerous organizations, such as Vision8, Clinton County Conservation, Fourth of July festival, National Night Out, Human Powered League, Humane Society, Clinton County Historical Society, Habitat for Humanity, River City Tennis Association, Clinton Trees Forever, CMS Drama, Clinton Parks, Springdale Cemetery, Clinton Band Booster,and Heritage Canyon. I am running for Clinton School Board to help make positive changes and bring new ideas to the board. I have a real desire to make Clinton a better community and I feel our schools and children play a huge part in that. We need to work on getting our graduation rate up, retaining our students, lowering our class sizes, offering more diverse classes, and achieving better communication between schools and parents. I feel all these items can be done in a fiscally responsible way. I have the time and desire to move Clinton Schools in a positive way. I have the ability to work hard to collectively resolve issues, and the backbone to stand up for what is right. I will think outside the box and work with legislators and others to improve school services and get the tools needed for the staff and students to succeed. I ask for your support to work with the other board members and serve the Clinton Community School District. Please get out to vote on September 12th.
