Clinton Schools is proud to announce the promotion of Scott Blair to assistant principal at Clinton Intermediate School beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.
Blair currently serves as the music teacher at Henry Elementary and Clinton Intermediate School and has played an active role in supporting students, staff, and school initiatives across multiple buildings. This year, he was recognized as Clinton Schools’ Cardinal Rising Star recipient, an award presented annually to an outstanding teacher within their first five years in the profession who demonstrates exceptional leadership, dedication, and impact on students.
Throughout his time at Clinton Schools, Scott has helped launch BIST initiatives at both Clinton Intermediate School and Henry Elementary by serving on leadership teams. He also created music performance opportunities for every grade level at both schools while working to strengthen K–12 alignment within the district’s music program through increased collaboration with band and choir programs. In addition, he has trained more than 100 staff members in crisis prevention and currently serves as the district’s crisis prevention trainer.
Before becoming a music teacher, Blair began his career in Clinton Schools as a substitute teacher and later served in the recovery room at Henry Elementary for three years. He has also coached middle school football and wrestling and served as a drumline technician for the Clinton High School marching band.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Marketing Management and a Master of Arts in Teaching and Elementary Education from Western Governors University, as well as an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in K–12 Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University.
Alyssa Bush, who will serve as principal of Clinton Intermediate School beginning next school year, shared excitement about the promotion, stating, “Because of the strong relationships he has built with students, families, and the community, along with his passion for growth and continuous improvement, Scott is a natural fit for the role of Assistant Principal. He is a team player always willing to step in or step up and I can't wait to see what our building can accomplish.”
Outside of school, Scott and his wife enjoy spending time with their three children, especially watching them participate in sports. He also enjoys traveling, playing pickleball, hunting, fishing, and boating.
“There are many great things I have seen and been a part of at Clinton Intermediate School,” said Scott. “I’m excited to build on those strengths and work with the community, both within and beyond the school walls, to positively impact students, their families, and the staff.”
Clinton Schools is excited to welcome Mr. Blair into this new leadership role and looks forward to the positive impact he will continue to make at Clinton Intermediate School.
