๐ Spotlight Thursday ๐
This week, weโre proud to introduce Chairman Tim George!
A lifelong Andersonville native, Tim joined the Anderson County Soil & Water Conservation District Board in the 1980s and has been a dedicated advocate for agriculture and conservation ever since.
Tim has been farming for as long as he can remember. In 1971, he began milking cows with his uncle before starting his own farming operation in 1977. Over the years, his farm has included dairy cattle, to***co, hay, and corn. After selling his dairy herd in 1986, Tim continued growing corn and to***co while expanding into beef cattle.
Today, Tim manages around 700 acres of farmland and owns 330 head of beef cattle, continuing a lifetime of hard work and stewardship of the land.
On October 29, 2024, Tim and his wife, Sonya Jo George, were recognized for their outstanding leadership and service to Anderson County, particularly in the areas of agriculture and 4-H youth development.
Timโs extensive knowledge of livestock, farm management, and conservation, along with his commitment to serving our agricultural community, make him an invaluable leader and a tremendous asset to our Board of Supervisors.
Thank you, Tim, for your years of dedication to agriculture, conservation, and the people of Anderson County! ๐พ๐๐
