Clinton Senior Center

Clinton Senior Center A focal point for area senior citizens. We provide programs that enrich the mind, body, and soul. Started as the Clinton Senior Citizens Club in February 1963.

The Clinton Senior Center has grown to be a wonderful place for area senior citizens. We offer a wide variety of activities and services for seniors and people of all ages. We are a Rock County Golden Dinner Station. We provide daily noontime meals for people at the center and to the homebound. We always look forward to meeting new people. Volunteers are always welcome. Prices are $3.25 for those

over the age of 60 and $10 for those under 60. We also provide multiple opportunities for recreational activities. There is probably to much to mention. Just a little taste of what we do offer is weekly card games, a book club, a crafting session, movie club, and monthly birthday parties. We also have a pool table and a piano for those who don't have the room. The center also provides fun day trips to places around Southern Wisconsin such as the Fireside or Lake Geneva. We do ask for advanced sign up and a small donation for most trips. Another important role for us at the Senior Center is special health and information clinics. There is a monthly toe nail clinic provided by the Beloit Health System. One of their nurses comes the second Wednesday of the month depending on holidays to look at, and trim peoples toenails and feet. The benefit specialist that comes usually the first Tuesday of every month is a very helpful resource the help Seniors or approaching Seniors weed through various insurance, social security, and medicare issues. Also available to local seniors is the Clinton Senior Center Bus. This bus is available to all seniors in the Clinton area for a variety of purposes doctor's appointments, shopping trips, or just a ride to the center. There is a small mileage fee that is needed to ride the bus. In general the Clinton Senior Center is a wonderful resource in the Clinton area for local seniors.

Good news for a somewhat normal. In discussion of our plans with the Rock County Health Department we were given the OK to open up with restrictions with everyone else starting Thursday. It won't be the Center we knew before but it is at least something. Zoom programming will still be available and noon meals will still only be provided as carry-out, curbside, or delivery. More information will be provided in next month's newsletter on our new-for-now programming starting June 1st. In the meantime if you want to visit come on down. Masks are recommended...even if Marian and Jessica forgot.

We have finally delivered all of our surprise May Baskets. It was our little way of showing to everyone that we still are here for a little fun even at home. We also was silly and thought it would only take one afternoon...it took three days. But no matter the day we saw plenty of happy people and surprised pets.
