🏛️✨ A fascinating look back into the incredible history of the Curtis companies and their innovation!

Did you know that Oklahoma City was once awarded the prestigious Curtis Flag for outstanding production under “Industrial Democracy”? 🚩 The blue and white Curtis flag was presented to the Curtis house showing the greatest improvement and achievement in production—a true symbol of pride and teamwork across the Curtis companies.

Another exciting innovation came from the Clinton plant with the creation of the Victory Sash Sanding Machine 🪵⚙️ designed to improve sash production and efficiency. Mechanical Engineer Sern Madsen helped lead the development of this advanced machine, which became an important part of Curtis manufacturing history right here in Clinton, Iowa!

The Curtis legacy was about far more than lumber—it was innovation, craftsmanship, leadership, and community. 💛

Today, Curtis Mansion Historical Foundation President Marcia Flory and Vice-President Dr. Angela Gabel had the honor of speaking at Rotary about the mission of the George M. Curtis Mansion and how our community can come together to preserve this incredible piece of living history right here in Clinton, Iowa 💛

We have BIG goals ahead as we continue restoration efforts to ensure the mansion can be enjoyed for generations to come 🙌

The Clinton Women's Club will be hosting an open house from 1 to 3 pm on Monday, September 23rd

Come and chat with Jessica Curtis and Rebecca Corson, daughters of the late Jim Curtis, granddaughters of George II, great granddaughters of Louis and great great granddaughters of George M.

Friends of the Curtis family, employees of Curtis woodworks and the public are invited to attend the tea and tour.
