Shortly after 2:30 a.m. this morning, Sheriff Aaron Brown attempted a traffic stop near NW 250 Road and NW 351 Road.

During the stop, Christian Hunter Thompson, a passenger in the vehicle who is wanted on active felony Henry County warrants, allegedly fled on foot northbound into a heavily wooded area.

Sheriff’s Office personnel, including Deputy Napier and Deputy Stevens, responded and searched the area but were unable to locate Thompson.

Thompson remains wanted. In addition to his outstanding felony warrants, charges for resisting arrest will be sought following this morning’s incident.

If you see Thompson or know where he is, please contact Henry County Central Dispatch at 660-885-5587.

All persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

For the past several weeks, Henry County Sheriff’s Office detectives have been actively working to locate Bryan Keith Sharp, 27, on multiple no-bond warrants.

Last week, during a traffic stop conducted by the Clinton Police Department, Sharp allegedly exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Following that incident, our detectives continued developing information regarding his whereabouts.

That investigation ultimately led deputies to a residence in the 500 block of E. Grand River Street in Clinton.

On Thursday, shortly before 4:30 p.m., Sheriff Aaron Brown, Captain Bilbruck, Master Sergeant Logan, Detective Kubilus, Detective Stutzman, Deputy Saulters and Deputy Harms, along with members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Clinton Police Department, responded to and surrounded the residence.

As deputies approached, a subject began to open the back door before quickly retreating inside. During negotiations, Sharp agreed to surrender, voluntarily exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident.

Sharp was booked into the Henry County Detention Center on no-bond warrants for:

— Receiving Stolen Property
— Possession of a Controlled Substance
— Assault – 1st Degree or Attempt
— Domestic Assault – 2nd Degree

We are thankful for the due diligence and persistence of our detectives and staff, as well as the assistance of MSHP and Clinton PD. Their coordinated efforts brought this investigation to a safe conclusion without further incident.

All persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

School is back in session across Henry County, and we're not wasting any time getting back into our school-zone and morning traffic enforcement.

This morning, as they do every morning, deputies were out before the school-day rush, conducting 7 traffic stops in just 45 minutes, between 6:45 and 7:30 a.m. alone.

Our goal is simple: slow traffic down, increase visibility and help keep our students, parents, teachers and school buses safe.

School is back. Slow down, buckle up, put the phone down—and expect to see us out there.
