Proud to announce that the Halls Fire Department has received a Class 4 ISO rating. This is a huge achievement for our department and will directly impact property insurance calculations for those located within 5 miles of our fire station.

This accomplishment would not have been possible without the continued support of our community, our Board of Directors, and the hard work and dedication of our firefighters. We are proud to serve our community and remain committed to providing the highest level of fire protection and emergency services possible.

We have received official notification, that Halls Fire and Rescue, has been awarded the OSFM Matching Grant, in the amount of $30,650, making our grant a total of $61,300. This money is greatly appreciated and will be used towards the purchase of additional turn-out gear and other safety equipment. These grants help us to continue to serve our community, without a burden to taxpayers.

A big step this week for North Carolina’s fire fighter and paramedic families. Thank you to Representative Mike Schietzelt for N.C. House and Senator Benton Sawrey for filing House Bill 1203 and Senate Bill 1004.

The legislation expands tuition waivers for the children of certain public safety employees, including fire fighters and paramedics, allowing them to attend North Carolina Community Colleges at no cost. It creates a direct path to higher education for families who support this work every day.

Public safety employees take on long hours and real risk, and their families carry that weight. This bill reduces financial strain and opens more opportunities for the next generation. We look forward to working to move this legislation forward and continuing to advocate for those who serve and their families. International Association of Fire Fighters
