JUNE IS NATIONAL TRENCH SAFETY MONTH !!!
Protecting Workers. Preventing Tragedies. Promoting Safety.
Trench and excavation work is among the most hazardous tasks in construction.
Every June, the industry comes together to raise awareness, promote best practices, and prevent avoidable injuries and fatalities.

Why Trench Safety Matters
• Cave‑ins can occur without warning
• Just 1 cubic yard of soil can weigh over 3,000 lbs
• Most trench-related deaths happen in trenches less than 10 feet deep
• Proper planning and protective systems save lives
Key Safety Practices
• Protective Systems: Sloping, shoring, shielding
• Daily Inspections: A competent person must inspect trenches
• Safe Access & Egress: Ladders within 25 feet of workers
• Atmospheric Testing: Required for deep or confined spaces
• Never Enter an Unprotected Trench

Today, CNNGA celebrated the retirement of Supervisor Ryan Fellers. Ryan has been a valued member of the CNNGA team for nearly 30 years. Throughout his career, he wore many hats and excelled in every role he held. He consistently demonstrated dedication, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.

Ryan built great rapport with both his coworkers and the customers he served, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of working with him.

CNNGA employees recently gathered to celebrate the retirement of CSR Rhea Plemmons with a special retirement luncheon.

For the past 10 years, Rhea has been a valued member of our Customer Service Department. She is known for her positive attitude, dedication to serving our customers, and the kindness and support she has always shown to her coworkers. Her commitment and friendly spirit have made a lasting impact on everyone who has had the pleasure of working with her.

As Rhea begins this exciting new chapter, we wish her many wonderful days filled with travel, time spent attending her grandchildren’s ball games, and all the things she enjoys most.

We know many customers were surprised and frustrated by higher-than-normal natural gas bills, and we understand the financial strain this may have caused. We do not take that lightly.

During the late-January winter storms, two things happened at the same time: customers used more natural gas to stay warm, and the wholesale price of natural gas spiked due to extreme weather-related supply and demand pressure. This was an extreme, record-setting natural gas market event, and it affected costs during that period.

CNNGA is offering customer assistance options, including payment flexibility that allows eligible customers to spread the impact of higher bills over six months, and we are promoting levelized billing for eligible customers who want more predictable monthly bills.

We are also making major improvements to how we communicate with customers. If market conditions change rapidly again, customers will receive earlier alerts and clearer updates so there are fewer surprises.
