CPL Foundation Purpose & Activities: Clinton Public Library Foundation’s purpose is to seek donations, gifts, memorials, grants, and bequests to help the library search for and obtain quality facilities including, but not limited to, the erection and maintenance of the library building, circulation, technology, furnishings, and grounds. Once funds are received, the board will maintain open records
while thanking and recognizing donors, and managing and distributing funds. About the CPL Foundation: It is the goal of the Foundation "to enrich, not replace traditional tax-based support for the library through gifts and grants from individuals and organizations.”
CPL Foundation Mission: The mission of the Foundation is "to provide quality library facilities for information, recreation, and lifelong learning for residents of all ages in the Village of Clinton and surrounding area.”
Major Donations: When you make a contribution to the Foundation, the Foundation Board will maintain and safeguard every contribution. Recognition for the contribution will be provided according to your wishes and the policies of the Foundation Board. Memorial Fund: A memorial donation or a life insurance policy are lasting tributes. The Foundation Board will invest your substantial donation and disburse the revenue for the purpose you direct at the inception of the bequest. Recognition will be provided according to your wishes and the policies of the Foundation Board. Tax Benefits: Gifts to the Clinton Public Library Foundation, Inc. are tax-deductible. You may be able to give appreciated stocks, bonds, or real estate to the Foundation, be exempt from paying tax on the appreciation of the asset, and still receive a tax deduction for the full value of the asset. Through the use of charitable remainder trusts and other deferred giving options, you may also be able to enjoy income from the property during your lifetime while reducing income and estate taxes.
