I believe I would be a strong candidate for Hickman County Magistrate, District 1 because my life and values are deeply rooted in faith, family, and hard work. My faith guides the way I live and serve others, reminding me to lead with integrity, humility, and compassion. I believe public service is a calling, not a title, and that every decision should be made with honesty and a genuine concern for the people it affects—no matter who they are or where they come from.
Family is at the center of who I am. Growing up and raising a family here has taught me the importance of responsibility, respect, and community. I understand the challenges families face because I live them myself—balancing work, family, and the desire to leave something better for the next generation. Those values shape how I approach leadership: with patience, accountability, and a commitment to treating every person with dignity and fairness.
While agriculture plays an important role in my life today, I have not always been involved in farming. I started out in factory work, where I learned the value of showing up every day, working long hours, and earning an honest living. That experience taught me respect for working men and women and gave me firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by those who rely on steady jobs to provide for their families. Those lessons stay with me and influence how I view work, responsibility, and opportunity.
Through time, agriculture became a meaningful part of my life and further shaped my understanding of perseverance and stewardship. Farming teaches lessons you don’t learn in a classroom—commitment, respect for the land, and the reality that success comes from consistent effort, not shortcuts. I deeply respect the farmers and agricultural families who are the backbone of Hickman County, and I believe their voices matter just as much as any other. Whether someone works in a factory, on a farm, or in town, every opinion deserves the same consideration.
One of the most important duties of a magistrate is listening, and I believe all voices deserve to be heard equally. Every concern—regardless of a person’s background, income, position, or status—is important. I am committed to being accessible and approachable, taking the time to listen carefully, and ensuring that no one feels overlooked or unheard. Good leadership starts with listening first, seeking understanding, and then working together toward practical, common-sense solutions.
Managing the county budget responsibly is another responsibility I take seriously. I understand the value of a dollar because I learned it early in life through hard work at a young age. My humble beginnings taught me accountability and discipline, and I believe taxpayer money should be treated with the same care as family finances—spent wisely, transparently, and always with the county’s best interest in mind.
My upbringing and life experiences—both in factory work and agriculture—have given me a well-rounded perspective and a deep respect for people from all walks of life. Those lessons continue to guide me today and shape how I would serve as Magistrate for District 1. I am committed to working hard, staying grounded, and representing Hickman County with honesty, respect, and a genuine commitment to serving every resident equally.
