Yesterday I attended the Henry County Commission meeting, and I had the opportunity to address several issues that I believe deserve our attention.

One of those was the data center situation we are watching unfold in neighboring Benton County. I brought forward questions about what Henry County can do now to protect our roads, infrastructure and taxpayers should we ever face a similar large-scale development here. I was told they were very good questions, but there weren't really answers or a plan at this time.

And that is exactly why I believe we should be having these conversations before something is sitting at our doorstep. Being prepared doesn't mean being against growth. It means understanding the potential impact, knowing what authority the county has, and having protections in place before they are needed.

We also discussed the MoDOT super load. I was advised that the super load will be traveling on approved state routes. I also raised concerns about heavy trucks using county roads that are not part of the road agreement. I was told law enforcement is pulling drivers over, conducting inspections and issuing citations when appropriate. I appreciate knowing those concerns are being taken seriously.

Sheriff Brown was also at the meeting, and I took the opportunity to tell him that I believe he is doing a wonderful job managing his budget and finding creative ways to fund equipment and other needs for his department. Being fiscally responsible isn't just about spending less it is about finding ways to meet the needs of the county while being responsible with taxpayer dollars.

These meetings are important. I am not attending just because I am running for office. I am attending because I want to understand the issues, ask questions, listen to the answers and learn where we can do better.

If I am asking the people of Henry County to trust me with this job, then I believe I owe it to you to put in the work to be prepared for it.

I will continue showing up, asking questions and learning—because protecting Henry County means thinking about not only the issues we have today, but the ones that may be coming tomorrow.

Did you know Windsor SeptemberFest started after Windsor celebrated its 150th birthday in 2005? The celebration was such a success that the community decided they needed to keep the tradition going and SeptemberFest was born!

Labor Day weekend became a time for friends, families and former residents to come together, reconnect and celebrate their community.

I love learning the “why” behind the traditions in our small towns. More than 20 years later, SeptemberFest is still going strong because of the volunteers and community members who continue to show up year after year. ❤️

I’ll be there this weekend, and you better believe I’m looking forward to that Dessert & Pie Auction! 🥧😂

Me Getting to Know You & You Getting to Know Me 🇺🇸

What is one of your favorite Labor Day memories or traditions?

For me, Labor Day has always felt like that last big weekend of summer time at the lake, good food, and enjoying friends and family. I can’t say we have one specific tradition other than simply making time to be together.

But while we enjoy the long weekend, let’s not forget what Labor Day is really about. It’s a day to recognize the hardworking men and women whose dedication and contributions have helped build our communities and our country. Whether you work on a farm, in a factory, behind a desk, on the road, in a classroom, at a hospital, own a small business, or serve your community your hard work matters.

This year I’ll be out and about all weekend! I’m kicking things off tomorrow evening by helping the Deepwater Labor Day Harvest Picnic get buggies delivered and tents set up for the pedal pull.

I’m looking forward to a busy weekend, seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and enjoying some of the traditions that make our small communities so special.

A little Friday thought… 💜

When I decided to run for Presiding Commissioner, I didn't decide to run because I thought I knew everything. I decided that if I was going to do this, I was going to learn the job.

For more than a year, I've been studying Missouri county government, budgets, statutes, townships, roads and bridges, CART funds, Sunshine Law, levies, and most importantly, what a County Commission can and cannot do.

Henry County is a little unique. Of Missouri's 114 counties, 89 are third-class counties, and only 20 of those operate under township organization. Henry County is one of them.

I've been told I'm not a politician. I've been told I don't have the right background and don't know enough about county government.

Here's the thing: I don't believe leadership means walking into a room thinking you already know everything. It means being willing to listen, ask questions, do your homework, and keep learning.

Every time someone tells me what I don't know, it gives me even more determination to learn it.

I bring years of experience in construction, budgeting, forecasting, building a business from the ground up, and being deeply involved in our community.

And I'm still learning because I believe Henry County deserves a Presiding Commissioner who never stops learning.

I'm not running because I'm a politician.

I'm running because I'm willing to do the work. 💜

The loss of Dolly Parton is one that is felt far beyond the world of country music. She was an incredible entertainer, but what I have always admired most about Dolly was her heart for giving back.

She never forgot where she came from. She used her success not just to build a career, but to lift others up especially children and families. Through her Imagination Library alone, hundreds of millions of books have been placed into the hands of children around the world.

Dolly’s example has influenced me more than I probably ever realized. She showed that you don’t have to hold an elected office or have a certain title to make a difference. You simply have to care enough to get involved.

That is something I try to carry into my own life—whether it is helping a family at Christmas, putting a coat on a child, supporting a local organization, or simply stepping up when someone in our community needs a hand.

As I run for Presiding Commissioner, I want to carry that same belief with me: never forget where you came from, never become too important to help someone else, and when you have the ability to give back do it.

Dolly Parton leaves behind an incredible legacy of music, laughter, kindness and generosity. I think one of the greatest ways we can honor her is by continuing what she spent a lifetime showing us:

Be kind. Give back. Help people. And leave your little corner of the world better than you found it.

Rest easy, Dolly. Thank you for showing so many of us what a life of giving can look like. ❤️

🍎 BACK TO SCHOOL WEEK! 📚✏️

As students across Henry County head back to school, I want to wish our students, teachers, staff, bus drivers, administrators, and parents a wonderful start to the new school year!

To our students work hard, be kind, make new friends, and don’t be afraid to try something new. 💜

And a special reminder for all of us on the roads: slow down, watch for school buses, and give yourself a little extra time. Those few extra minutes can help keep our kids safe.

Tonight put a lot of things into perspective for me.

I was on the phone with a dear friend who is facing the heartbreaking reality of losing his father when another call came through. It was my daughter’s biological great-aunt, reaching out because things are not going well with her great-grandpa.

My daughter is adopted, and right now I’m trying to figure out how to explain to her that someone who is part of her story and her biological family is slowly dying.

So while there may be false accusations, Facebook posts, political smears, and anonymous accounts trying to get my attention, my priority tonight—and always—is my family.

Running for office does not mean I stop being a wife, a mom, a Mawmaw, or a friend. There are things in life far more important than politics.

I will address legitimate questions from real people. But I will not spend my time defending myself against anonymous accounts or participating in social-media drama.

Tonight, I’m choosing the people I love. Family first. Always.
