Dickenson County Behavioral Health Services will be conducting WALK IN INTERVIEWS for the following position: PART TIME RESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT / DAY PROGRAM AIDE.

The person in this position is primarily responsible for providing supervision and teaching basic living skills to the consumers of the Day Support Program and residents of Freedom House Group Home. Successful applicants may be scheduled shifts in the Developmental Disabilities Day Program as well as night/weekend shifts at the Freedom House or Victory House Group Homes. Shift work is required with all shifts occurring nightly, on weekends and holidays.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED.
Starting pay for part-time positions is $20/hour for shifts in the group homes and $15/hour for shifts in the Day Program.

The WALK IN INTERVIEWS will be conducted on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD FROM 9:00am UNTIL 11:00am. These interviews will be held a the DCBHS Administration Building located at 454 Main Street in Clintwood (The old Wells Fargo Bank).

Announcement: DCBHS administration office is located at 454 Main Street in Clintwood (the old Wells Fargo bank building). We are being forced to close the back half of our parking lot due to a developing issue with the pavement and support wall. We currently have the area clearly marked with cones and caution tape. Please refrain from parking any vehicles in this area until further notice.

This will affect the Law Offices of Greg Baker, the Virginia Autism clinic and the MEOC offices all located on the second floor.

*As a side note. If anyone may have any old pictures of the construction of that area and retaining wall from the early 1970’s, please reach out to us.

Staff took the day to enjoy some great food and wonderful company at the annual DCBHS agency picnic. Because of the extreme heat, we moved to an inside venue at the beautiful Breaks Interstate Park. Thank you to Bruisers BBQ’s own TJ Fryatt, Brad Fleming and Nathan Ramey for bringing the delicious grub!

Dickenson County Behavioral Health Services is currently recruiting the following position: PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SPECIALIST for the LINK program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individuals in recovery with a support system to include establishing healthy coping skills which support long-term wellness and recovery. This will also include implementing self-directed recovery/wellness plans and navigating community-based resources as well as state and local systems. The successful candidate will provide individualized peer support services in an office-based setting and may act as NA/AA Group Facilitator in several community-based groups, which will occur primarily in the evenings and weekends.

Position requirements include personal experience and knowledge of the wellness and recovery process, minimum of 2 years of personal sobriety, high school diploma and/or equivalent, valid Virginia Driver’s license and /or have reliable source of transportation. Applicant must possess, be in the process of obtaining or willing to seek certifications for all qualifications and skills required by federal and state regulations to bill Medicaid for the services provided. Rate of pay for this position will be $25,009 - $27,605 based on certification status and experience.
