Recently, there has been a rash of thefts involving the car Kia. Some of the thefts that have occurred in Clio and surrounding areas of the county are believed to be connected to this rash. The thieves call themselves the "Kia Boys." If you own or know someone who owns a Kia or any Make associated with Kia, please practice extreme caution when you are parking to enter your destinations. These carjackers will trespass on your property and have also been known to prey on those who exit their vehicles and leave them running. As a precautionary measure, Clio Police Department recommends that you lock your vehicle doors and turn your vehicle off before exiting!! Take your keys with you!!! Even if it's just to grab something quickly out of the store!! If you or anyone that you know has any information on these recent car thefts, please notify the Clio Police Department at (843)586-2211.
