Foster Closet of Michigan - Genesee County Branch Open by Appointment Only. The Foster Closet is an all volunteer tax-exempt non-profit organization providing aid to the Foster Care Community. What We Do!

Foster Parents can be unprepared for a newly placed child in terms of having the right size or quantity of clothing and equipment required for a particular child. Often children arrive in their new foster home with only the clothes on their back. This frequently places a financial hardship on the Foster Family to provide for the immediate clothing needs of children.

Thanks to your generosity, foster parents can come and "shop" for their foster children at no cost. ❤️ Every donation helps a child feel cared for, comfortable, and valued.

Right now, our greatest needs are:
🧥 Gently used winter clothing (Newborn–Size 10/12)
🩲 NEW boys' and girls' underwear (Sizes 6, 8, 10 & 12)
👶 Diapers (Sizes 4, 5, 6 & 7)
🧴 Deodorant

We also gladly accept donations of other items that kids and teens can use.

Please note: We are unable to accept:
❌ Household items
❌ Stained or damaged clothing
❌ Toys with missing pieces
❌ Used socks or underwear

Every coat, diaper, and pair of new underwear makes a difference in the life of a child who has already been through so much.

Help us celebrate 15 Genesee County Foster youth who are graduating this year! We are asking for your help spoiling them with everyday things as they begin the big step to independence! Approximately only 50% of kids in Foster care graduate from high school! Let's show them how proud we are!🎓💝
