Dept members spent last night holding a refresher drill along with Demarest, Harrington Park, & Haworth FD’s reviewing several core skill sets. 🚒🇺🇸

🔥🔥Earlier today the dept was dispatched to a report of a electric scooter smoking. Upon arrival it was found that a cell in the battery pack had exploded while the owner was attempting to service the pack. Luckily and surprisingly no injuries or property damage was sustained. Bergen County Hazmat responded to help secure and remove the now volatile battery pack. These electric devices are no joke folks. The lessons here are - Leave repairs to qualified individuals, always use the manufacturer provided charger, and consider charging and storing these devices outside in a shed, etc whenever possible and not in the home or garage.🔥🔥🚒
