Are you curious about local wildlife or an avid birder? Join volunteer naturalist Daniel Kogan for an engaging presentation on one of New Jersey's most spectacular diving birds!

Discover the incredible adaptations, hunting skills, and habitats of the kingfisher, and find out how to spot them right here in our own backyard.

🌲 Want to help our local forests thrive? Here’s your chance! 🌲

We’ve teamed up with Wild Woods Restoration for two expert-led seedling potting workshops this month! Come lend a hand, learn from the pros, and give back to your local green spaces.

You’ll be potting native seedlings to help them grow strong before they are replanted in local reserves—including CNC’s very own forest! 💚

☀️ It’s back! The Annual Pond Celebration is just around the corner! 🌿

Join us at Ruckman Pond on Sunday, June 7th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM for our free, family-friendly community fair.

There is so much to do and explore:

🛶 Take a relaxing paddle on the calm waters

We are ready to jump into summer with a busy June! Check out all our upcoming events and programs. The Pond Celebration is our favorite annual fair, and we are proud to be partnering with the Closter Lion's Club for their Duck Derby Fundraiser. See you on the trails!

Improvements are underway! Thanks to a grant from the Borough of Closter's Open Space Program, we are making much needed repairs to the shore of Ruckman Pond. Work will be restoring the bank after years of erosion and runoff damage, as well as renovating some of the pond loop trail. Check back soon to see our progress!

Thanks to Closter Lions Club for running this year's 4th Annual Duck Derby in support of Closter Nature Center! Adopt a Duck for $20 or a Quack Pack of 6 Ducks for $100 and have a chance to win some great prizes! The Duck Derby will take place on June 6, so adopt your ducks soon! 🐥🐥🐥

UPDATE: The Duck Derby will be held at Closter Nature Center (and not at 166 Harrington Ave as it says in the poster)!!!
