Today, CVARC members assisted in a rappel demonstration for the Bergen County Youth Police Academy. Also this morning, members trained the Closter DPW in CPR and First Aid. Squeeze in responding to two calls, it was a busy day for the department. Thank you to all our members for their dedicated service.

WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING…early this morning CVARC was called to the scene of a rollover MVC on the Palisades Interstate Parkway. 4 patients were transported, including one full trauma & one partial trauma.

🇺🇸Your volunteers were very busy yesterday. In the morning a crew attended Alpine’s Memorial Day ceremony followed by a medical call. Next on the agenda, Closter’s Memorial Day parade. We worked hard to create a very meaningful float (please see the photo of our poster for full explanation). After the parades & ceremonies were in the books, we answered another 5 calls. 100% Volunteer 🚑🩷.

Last night, Thomas Migliore (pictured center), was honored as Closter Volunteer Ambulance’s Volunteer of the Year. This is Tom’s 50th year of service to the organization. Tom has consistently been one of our top responders and he has served in numerous leadership positions. Congratulations to Tom on this well deserved honor and thank you for your service. Thank you to the Closter Elks for hosting the event and congratulations to the Closter Fire and Closter Police recipients.

Your CVARC volunteers 🚑 had a busy day yesterday. 7 calls answered! In the morning, both rigs were out at the same time. Late afternoon, ambulances were requested for 3 calls at the same time. Both Closter ambulances were out on mutual aid calls. Not a problem…even though we have 2 ambulances, we are part of a strong mutual aid system. The 3rd call was taken care of by a combined crew - a Closter EMT with a neighboring town’s ambulance crew 🩷

While you were sleeping, members of CVARC, the East Bergen Rappel Team, the Port Authority Police and Alpine Fire conducted a rescue on the Palisades Interstate Park. Thank you to all the agencies involved.

The Closter Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Corps wants to thank the for allowing us to place a display in the front of the library. This display features some equipment used by CVARC members and two binders with descriptions of different items used by this organization! The display will be up starting today and remain until the beginning of June in honor of EMS week, which is the third week of May! Be sure to stop by the Closter Public Library to check out the display and read the descriptions of some of the equipment used by CVARC!
