Demarest Avenue is currently closed between Durie Avenue and Closter Dock Road due to a broken water main that has caused the roadway to become unstable.

🛑 Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

🛒 Stop & Shop remains accessible from Perry Street.
Motorists should utilize the exit entrance to access the parking lot.

⚠️ Please use caution while traveling through the area and follow all posted detours and officer directions.

Closter’s annual Fishing Contest held in honor of long time Closter resident and coach Joe Accordino Jr. will be held Saturday May 9th at Ruckman Pond in Closter. The fishing contest held is co-sponsored by the Closter Police Department and Closter Recreation has been annually since the early 1970’s. Great family fun, please arrive before 9am to register and bring bait!!!
