What a blast this morning! The Cloverport Fire Department was proud to be part of the Breckinridge County Fair Parade, and we had an absolute blast!

It was awesome seeing so many familiar faces, families, friends, and community members come out to enjoy the parade and support the community.

We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support you show our department and our firefighters. Getting to serve this community is an honor, and events like today remind us just how special our community really is.

As another month comes to a close, we'd like to thank our community for your continued support and share a look at the calls your firefighters responded to this month.

While responding to emergencies is our priority, training is just as important. Our members have been working hard to stay current on annual training requirements to ensure we're prepared when our community needs us most.

This month, the Cloverport Fire Department proudly hosted Vehicle Extrication Training, with a hands on vehicle thanks to Burdens Auto, allowing our firefighters and neighboring responders to sharpen the lifesaving skills needed to safely remove victims trapped in vehicles. Continuous training helps us provide the highest level of service possible and keeps our firefighters ready for any emergency.

🔥 Monthly Fire Safety Reminder

As we continue through the summer, remember these simple fire safety tips:
✅ Test your smoke alarms monthly and replace batteries if needed.
✅ Keep grills at least 10 feet away from homes, decks, and other combustible materials.
✅ Never leave cooking unattended.
✅ Make sure everyone in your home knows two ways out and has a designated meeting place outside.

🚒 Exciting News for the Cloverport Fire Department! 🚒

We are proud to announce that the Cloverport Fire Department has been selected to receive free DripDrop Hydration Drink Mix through the 2026 DripDrop Hydration Giveback Campaign!

Our firefighters often work in extreme heat while wearing heavy protective gear, responding to fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, and other emergencies. Staying properly hydrated is critical to keeping our members healthy, alert, and ready to serve our community safely.

Donations like this are incredibly important to volunteer fire departments. By providing hydration products at no cost, funds that would have been spent on these supplies can instead be directed toward equipment, training, and other essential resources that help us better protect the citizens of Cloverport.

A heartfelt thank you to DripDrop Hydration and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) for supporting volunteer firefighters across the nation. Your generosity helps ensure firefighters have the hydration they need to perform at their best when our communities need us most.

When seconds matter, being able to quickly locate your home can make all the difference.

The Cloverport Fire Department would like to remind residents to make sure their house numbers are clearly visible from the roadway, both during the day and at night. Emergency responders—including firefighters, EMS personnel, and law enforcement officers—rely on visible address numbers to find your home as quickly as possible during an emergency.

Helpful tips:
✅ Use large, easy-to-read numbers
✅ Make sure numbers contrast with the background color
✅ Keep them free from bushes, trees, decorations, or other obstructions
✅ Consider reflective numbers or lighting for nighttime visibility

A few minutes spent checking your address today could save valuable time when you need emergency assistance.

🚑🔥 Cloverport Fire Department – May 2026 Call Statistics 🔥🚑

During the month of May, the dedicated volunteers of the Cloverport Fire Department proudly responded to 25 calls for service in our community, including:

• 🚑 21 Medical Assist Calls
• 🚗 1 Motor Vehicle Accident
• 🔥 2 Structure Fires
• 💨 1 Smoke-Related Call

In addition to responding to emergencies, our volunteers completed 42 hours of training to ensure they remain prepared to serve and protect our community whenever the need arises.

We are proud of the commitment and professionalism shown by our members every day. Thank you to our volunteers for their dedication and to our community for your continued support.

The Cloverport Fire Department will be conducting a road block beginning at 8:00 AM tomorrow for the Crusade for Children fundraiser. Motorists may experience brief delays in the area while crews are set up and operating.

Volunteer Firefighter Opportunity

The Cloverport Fire Department is seeking dedicated and community-minded individuals to join our team as Volunteer Firefighters. This rewarding opportunity allows you to serve your community, develop valuable life-saving skills, and become part of a proud tradition of public service.

As a Volunteer Firefighter, you will respond to emergency calls including fires, motor vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, rescue incidents, and natural disasters. Volunteers also participate in training exercises, public education events, fire prevention activities, and community outreach programs.

Responsibilities:

- Respond to emergency incidents when available.
