Packed with games, sports gear, arts and crafts, and other fun activities, this free program brings recreation directly to your local park and offers a safe environment for children to have fun.

Kids of all ages are invited to stop by, play, and enjoy guided activities led by our friendly recreation staff. No registration needed – just show up and have fun! We hope to see you there!

Temperatures over 105 are predicted this week. Stay vigilant, Clovis - remember to stay hydrated, wear light-colored clothing, and check on one another. Our Clovis Cooling Center at Sierra Vista Mall will be open every day temperatures exceed 105 degrees. For more information, visit ClovisCA.gov/CoolingCenter2026

With temperatures climbing, Sierra Vista Mall has partnered with the City of Clovis and the Clovis Fire Department once again to serve residents during periods of extreme heat!

Residents are welcome to stay cool at Sierra Vista Mall Monday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on any day when the National Weather Service predicts Clovis temperatures to be 105 degrees or greater.

While there, participants can expect a cool environment and access to complimentary water at the customer service booth. Non-service animals are not allowed in the mall. The Sierra Vista Mall is located at 1050 Shaw Ave in Clovis.

Clovis Transit provides rides at no cost, and the mall can be accessed via Stageline's Green Route or through the use of our Round Up service. Additional details on transit stops and schedules can be found at ClovisCA.gov/Transit or by calling 559-324-2770.

All Clovis residents are reminded to take the following safety precautions during extreme heat:

Slow Down - Strenuous activities should be reduced, eliminated, or rescheduled to the coolest time of the day. Individuals at risk should stay in the coolest available place, not necessarily at home.

Dress for Summer - Lightweight, light-colored clothing reflects heat and sunlight and helps your body maintain normal temperatures.

Eat Right - Fruits and vegetables help the body maintain an appropriate balance. Avoid fatty foods that can cause the body to increase metabolic heat production which increases water loss.

Stay Hydrated - Drink plenty of water or other non-alcoholic fluids. Your body needs to keep cool, and it’s important to drink fluids even if you don't feel thirsty. Persons who have epilepsy, heart/kidney or liver disease, are on fluid-restrictive diets, or have a problem with fluid retention should consult a physician before increasing their consumption of fluids.

Check on At-Risk Family/Friends - During extreme heat conditions, check twice a day on friends and family members who are elderly, medically fragile, or have limited access to adequate cooling.

Protect Your Pets - Bring pets inside during the hottest time of the day. Never leave pets in a parked car. Provide plenty of fresh water and shade for outdoor pets.

Following the Monday, July 6, 2026, City Council Meeting, the Clovis City Council is now in Summer Recess for the remainder of the month of July.

Meetings will resume in August and will continue on their regular schedule, the first three Mondays of every month at 6:00 PM, with exceptions for holidays.

The next meeting will take place on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Council Chamber. For a complete list of upcoming Clovis City Council meetings through the remainder of the year, visit ClovisCA.gov/Agendas

REMINDER: Trash pick-up days will be changing next week for some residents!

Keep an eye on your mailbox! If you have residential trash service through the City of Clovis, you may receive a notice that your pick-up day is changing!

As part of our ongoing efforts to keep your trash pick-up efficient and timely, residential trash routes (including trash, organics, and recycling services) are being reorganized, and the new routes will take effect on July 13, 2026. This update will mean new service days for a small percentage of residents, and we’re working hard to ensure all those impacted are notified. If your service day is changing, you will receive a letter from the City informing you of your new service day. If you do NOT receive a letter, your service day will remain the same as it is now!

We’re here to help make the transition as smooth as possible. For more information or to verify your service day, please visit our website at ClovisCA.gov/ServiceSchedule for an interactive map. If you have any questions about your trash service or transitioning to a new service day, please contact the Solid Waste Division at (559) 324-2604.

Attention, Clovis residents! Get your trash ready – the schedule has now been released for the City’s second round of Community Clean-Up of 2026! This service is provided twice each year to single-family residential customers to help ensure that bulky items are disposed of properly.

Clean-up will begin soon, and you can expect to see a flyer in the mail a few weeks prior to your area’s clean-up date. However, if you want to plan ahead, you can always check our easy and convenient Community Clean-Up viewer on our website to find your date: ClovisCA.gov/CommunityCleanUp

(PRO TIP: When you open the viewer, type your address in the top search bar or zoom in on the map to see the dates!)

In the meantime, here are some tips to help make your pick-up smooth and successful:
1. Place items out no more than 2 weeks before your pick-up day and no later than 6 AM on your pick-up day.
2. Make sure your items are placed on the curb in front of your home (not on the side). We cannot pick up from driveways, alleys, or yards.
3. Sort your items by category (organics, metal, & miscellaneous debris).
4. Review the list of prohibited items (such as construction debris, hazardous materials, and tires) to ensure none of these have ended up in your piles. This info can be found in the flyer and on the website.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a very special America 250 Freedom Fest over the weekend! We welcomed nearly 10,000 people to Lamonica Stadium this year, one of the biggest turnouts in the event's history, as we celebrated not only the 4th of July but the 250th Anniversary of this nation. From skydivers to flyovers and the longest firework show ever held at Freedom Fest, Saturday was a night to remember!

A special thank you to the Kiwanis Club of Clovis CA for organizing this phenomenal event, to the many event sponsors of which we are proud to be one, and to our Clovis Fire Department and Clovis Police CA for keeping us safe.
