Allowable Fireworks and Safety Regulations
Within Clovis City limits fireworks that stay on the ground and do not explode loudly or launch into the air are allowable. Examples include flitter sparklers & illuminating torches; ground sparkling devices; cone and cylindrical fountains; ground spinners; wheels; and crackling devices.

Within the unicorporated parts of Curry County, the following fireworks are allowed: all of those listed above; shells and aerial shell kit-reloadable tubes; mines; multiple tube devices; and roman candles.

Curry County and the City of Clovis would like to remind residents that fireworks should only be used on private property with permission; away from dry vegetation grass, buildings, vehicles, and other combustible materials; under adult supervision; and with consideration to neighboring residents who may be disturbed by loud noises

Residents should also follow these safety rules: never allow young children to handle fireworks; keep a bucket of water or hose nearby; use fireworks only in approved areas and during permitted times; never relight malfunctioning fireworks; stay a safe distance away after lighting fireworks; never use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and properly dispose of used fireworks by soaking them in water before discarding.

Illegal or unsafe use of fireworks may result in citations, fines, or confiscation of fireworks.
