Northwestern Roosevelt County in east central New Mexico...
* Until 815 PM MDT.
* At 727 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Fort Sumner,
moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
Fort Sumner, Taiban and Tolar.
This includes Highway 60 between Mile Markers 316 and 361.
AFFECTS: Curry, NM; De Baca, NM; Roosevelt, NM
INSTRUCTION: Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
