💧 Out here in eastern New Mexico, water isn’t just a utility—it’s our future.

The Ogallala Aquifer is what our homes, farms, and businesses depend on—but it’s being used faster than it can naturally recharge.

Much of this took thousands of years to build.
We’re using it far more quickly than that.

What we do today will determine how long it lasts.

The Ogallala Land & Water Conservancy works with landowners through voluntary conservation and the retirement of irrigation wells to help protect water for future generations.

And the small steps we take at home can make a meaningful difference.
