Next Wednesday, June 10, Brazosport ISD will serve as the host site for a full-scale emergency response training exercise coordinated by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office as part of ongoing school safety and emergency preparedness efforts aligned with Texas House Bill 33 (the Uvalde Strong Act) and Texas school safety preparedness requirements.

The exercise will be held at the Brazoswood High School 9th Grade Center. Community members in the area may notice an increased presence of law enforcement, emergency vehicles, first responders, and other emergency response resources. As we go into Nation Police week May 10-16, 2026.
National Police Week originated in 1962 when President John F. Kennedy signed Public Law 87-726, designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls as National Police Week. It was established to honor law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. National Police Week.
