πβ€οΈ ABOVE & BEYOND β THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS β€οΈπ
Sometimes serving your community means answering a fire alarm in the middle of the night. Sometimes it means responding to an accident, an emergency, or helping a neighbor on their worst day.
And sometimes, it means simply showing up β hour after hour, day after day β because your community needs you.
From Wednesday through Saturday, several of our members voluntarily spent an average of 14β16 hours each day assisting with pumping water into the Village water system so that water service could continue for our residents, families, and businesses.
Four days. Long hours. Time away from work, family, and home.
And they did it voluntarily.
We want to publicly recognize and thank:
π Chief Jim Lee
π Deputy Chief Joe Tavano Jr.
π Captain Aaron DiSanto
π Assistant Chief Nick Reed
π Firefighter Chris Reed
π Captain Colton Rice
There weren't flashing lights or sirens for most of these hours. There wasn't anything glamorous about the job. It was simply members of our fire service recognizing that their community needed help and doing what needed to be done.
We are incredibly proud of these members and grateful for the commitment they continue to demonstrate to the people we serve.
To each of you: thank you.
Thank you for the long hours.
Thank you for the time away from your families.
Thank you for answering the call.
And most importantly, thank you for continuing to serve this community when it needed you.
This is volunteerism.
This is community.
This is what the fire service is all about. πβ€οΈ
