Quick tips to make sure your child is traveling safely in the car!

08/20/2022

It's almost back-to-school time! Before you head back to class, remember to talk to kids about safety. If your kids walk or ride their bike to school, teach them to look both ways before crossing the street. And if you're driving, remember to share the road with the school buses! Watch for flashing lights on buses. That means children are getting on or off the bus. This is snow joke, folks. We're looking at a wintry forecast for the weekend.

Break out your sleds, and toboggans! Or if you prefer settle in with a cup of hot chocolate and watch from a cozy spot indoors.

Plan to stay off the roads as a wintry mix moves in Saturday ahead of the main front. A mixture of rain, snow, and sleet is expected at the onset, with snow most likely across western NC. Snow showers may continue in the western NC mountains through Sunday night.

When weather like this arrives, there's snow place like home!

In all seriousness, prepare now to stay warm and safe. Ready your heating sources and a backup option in case we lose power.

Maybe stock up on something other than bread and milk :)
