🚌 School Bus Safety Reminder

With school back in session, just a quick reminder to give the buses a little extra time and space over the next few days while everyone settles back into the routine.

Please slow down around bus stops, watch for children crossing the roadway, and remember if a school bus is stopped with its red lights flashing and stop arm out, you must stop. Do not try to pass it.

A little patience goes a long way toward keeping our kids safe.

🚧 SAGE STREET PARKING NOTICE 🚧

The Clymer Borough Police Department is advising all residents of Sage Street that parking on the roadway is prohibited due to ongoing roadway construction until further notice.

Please make arrangements to keep all vehicles off Sage Street during this time to allow construction crews to safely complete their work.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience during this project.

We’ve seen some recent discussion regarding traffic stops and wanted to provide some information.

Whenever possible officers will attempt to conduct traffic stops in the safest location available. However that is not always possible. Once emergency lights are activated officers cannot always control where a driver decides to stop. Some drivers stop immediately while others continue to a different location. Every traffic stop is unique, and officers must make decisions based on the circumstances at the time.

If you encounter a traffic stop, please remember Pennsylvania’s Move Over Law. If it is safe to do so move over into the next lane. If changing lanes isn’t possible, slow down and proceed with caution. These simple actions help protect everyone involved.

Anyone wishing to conduct door to door solicitation within Clymer Borough must first obtain the required permit through the Borough before beginning any solicitation activities.

Once approved, solicitors will be issued identification that must be displayed while conducting business.

We are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals pictured below. These individuals were operating a white utility truck and may have information related to an ongoing investigation.

Descriptions:

Female: Appears to be a white female with blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail. She was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt or jacket.

Male: Appears to be a white male wearing a black baseball cap, black hooded sweatshirt, and dark colored pants.

⚠️ Traffic Advisory – Franklin St. & 6th St. ⚠️

Due to a power outage, the traffic signal at the intersection of Franklin Street and 6th Street is currently not functioning.

Please treat the intersection as a FOUR WAY STOP. Every driver must come to a complete stop before proceeding and yield the right of way as required.

Please use extra caution, be patient, and watch for pedestrians and other vehicles while traveling through the area.

🚨 Clymer Borough Police Department Holiday Reminder 🇺🇸

Before anyone asks...

Yes, consumer fireworks are legal in Pennsylvania... but there are still rules.

Before you light the fuse, remember:

💥 You must have the property owner's permission.

💥 Stay at least 150 feet from any occupied structure.

💥 Never use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

💥 Don't shoot fireworks at people, vehicles, or buildings.

Translation: If your celebration involves the fire department, the ambulance, or explaining yourself to a police officer... it's probably not part of the instructions.

Do yourself (and your wallet) a favor:
✅ Grill some burgers.
✅ Watch a professional fireworks show if you can.
✅ Keep all your fingers.
✅ Be respectful of your neighbors, veterans, & pets.

Soliciting within Clymer Borough requires a valid permit issued by the Borough.

As the weather gets warmer, residents may notice an increase in door to door solicitors. We would like to remind everyone that anyone soliciting within Clymer Borough is required to possess a valid solicitation permit.

If someone comes to your door and is unable to produce a valid permit upon request, please do not engage further. Instead, if it can be done safely, try to obtain:
• The individual’s name
• The company they represent
• A physical description of the individual
• The direction they traveled or the vehicle they are using, if known

Please contact the Clymer Borough Police Department with this information so we can investigate and determine whether the individual is in compliance with Borough regulations.
