Rain or shine, the job still gets done. 🇺🇸🚒

While most people were trying to stay dry, our full crew showed up in the pouring rain to get the trucks cleaned up and parade ready for Memorial Day. That kind of dedication doesn’t stop for bad weather.

Proud of this crew for always showing up, putting in the work, and taking pride in representing our department and community. Be sure to wave when you see us in the Memorial Day Parade! 🇺🇸

During EMS Appreciation Week, the Coal Grove Fire Department would like to recognize four of our firefighters who also provide another incredible service to the people of Lawrence County — James Vallance, Danny Larsen, Nathan Johnson, and Leah Bryant.

Thank you for your dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving our community each and every day. We appreciate everything you do both on and off the fire ground. 🚑🔥

This week for Nurses Week we also celebrate Firefighter Brandon Bazell!

You’ll often find Brandon out in the community whether he’s doing outreach through his employer, or providing educational materials and health screenings.

Behind the scenes, Brandon also uses his nursing skills within the department to help ensure our firefighters’ medical records stay accurate and up to date. This is a critical part of maintaining firefighter health and safety.

His dedication to both community outreach and the well-being of his fellow firefighters does not go unnoticed. Brandon, thank you for your hard work and commitment. We are proud to have you on our team.

This week, we proudly celebrate Nurses Week by shining a spotlight on our very own Chief, Chad Kelly!

When it comes to compassion and care, there is no one better with bedside… or should we say “on scene” manners than Chad.

He has a remarkable ability to bring a calming presence not only to his patients, but to his fellow firefighters as well.

One of the photos below was captured during an emergency scene. The individual he’s speaking with was likely experiencing one of the worst days of his life. In the middle of chaos, Chief Kelly removed his gear, knelt down, and simply took the time to talk.. listen...and just be present with him.

The image has been edited for privacy, but it was taken to show a very clear message!
Nursing doesn’t stop at hospital or clinic walls. It lives in moments like these when it’s needed most.

Chief Kelly, you are a powerful example of what it truly means to care. We appreciate you and all of your hard work.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Cheryl and the staff at the beautiful StoneCreek Farms Venue & Cottages for their warm welcome and generous hospitality.

They graciously hosted a gathering and dinner in appreciation of the firefighters from the Coal Grove Fire Department and Upper Township Fire Department. The meal was absolutely delicious, and the gesture meant so much to us all.

Events like this remind us of the true importance of community!

Bringing people together in appreciation strengthens the bonds that make our community so special.

Thank you for your kindness and support!

Thank you Coal Grove Little League for inviting us to participate in the little league opening day parade! Our trucks led all of those smiling faces to the field and our very own Captain, Craig Rowe, threw the first softball pitch!

We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to the Village Council and Mayor for purchasing the replacement of our expiring turnout gear. Over time, this gear breaks down and loses its protective ability, even if it still looks fine.

By investing in new turnout gear, our leadership is helping ensure our firefighters can do their jobs safely and effectively while continuing to protect our community. We’re grateful for your commitment to firefighter safety and public service.
