WAYO would like to take a moment to congratulate Da’mya Wilson from Burton on her incredible 72-point game this week! What an amazing accomplishment.

We also want to take time to remember one of our own, Angela Davenport, who scored 71 points back in 1979. Angela was truly a once-in-a-generation player — and it’s important to remember that in 1979, there was no 3-point line.

For generations, Westside students have walked past her retired jersey, but until this week, many of us didn’t fully realize the greatness and history behind that number. We lost her far too soon, but her legacy continues to inspire.

Thank you, #44, for all the hard work you put in on and off the floor. WAYO honors and respects everything you accomplished as a Hartman Hawk. 🏀💙

It’s that time of year again to to get your applications in for the Booster Club Scholarship!!! We will be giving away 2 $500 Scholarships, We will announce these at the athletic banquet in May. Please have your application submitted to [email protected] by April 15th.

These are the guidelines: Must be a JC Westside High School Senior .
2. 3.0 GPA Minimum
3. Involvement in a school sport
4. Proof of acceptance into higher education
5. Parent or Guardian MUST be a member of the JC Westside Booster Club
6. Funds will be given out after the completion of the first semester with a 2.75 or higher GPA maintained and transcript.

If you would like an application please let either Lindsay Fultz or Danyell Hurst know and we will get it to you!
